Description
Sixth design for 's and mine Falloutstuck AU.Sollux is the grandson of a Vault Dweller who was a born Psyker. After the Vault’s life supporting system shut down and the people inside suddenly realized that the door wouldn’t open, the Psyker used all his powers to remove the whole Vault’s wall. Unfortunately, this action caused a blood vessel to pop in the Psyker’s brain and he passed away; the other Vault Dwellers founded a town and set a statue of the Psyker as a memorial.
Unlike his grandfather, Sollux prefers to be useful to others through long-term actions. He secluded himself in a laboratory (where the only other person is Feferi, his self-proclaimed assistant), and works on things like implant parts, surgical instruments, and laser-based weapons. People consider him a weirdo.
He’s also Karkat’s friend.

The radio gave me a HUGE HUGE headache. Unlike you, I'm not really used to drawing hi-tech things, so trying to make STRAIGHT LINES and bundling them up into A WORKING RADIO was... a horrible experience =__=

The suckiest part is that the thingswhich are supposed to be hard (animals, fantasy stuff etc) are OK to draw. But a fucking radio makes me want to rip my hair out. How sucky is that? D:

This sounds weird, but I really like the way you draw pants. I find pants to be hard to draw, especially on men.
But this design looks awesome. The part with Feferi being his assistant is really cute.

I figured that he'd wear cargo pants with a ton of pockets. And that's a tin bracelet actually, covered in black enamel. It's the only thing that Sollux has from the Psyker.

I spent at least 5 days on this drawing. Sol's pretty hard for me to figure out appearance-wise, and I can't draw electronics too .____.

His ears look a bit disproportioned in the top image, but that's a minor issue.
Also, I didn't pay attention to it before (and this is completely unrelated to artistic concerns) but your handwriting is astoundingly neat. So kudos on that.

Sollux's design was actually the hardest of them all. He's not my favorite character, his face was hard to imagine, and his hair is ridiculously hard to draw. And don't get me started on that radio, I hate it with the passion of the thousand suns D:
And my handwriting is actually really horrible (had to write really fast back in university), so I'm not writing these letters. I'm drawing them instead XD

I know the feeling.
And by that I mean all of the feelings you listed.
ALL OF THEM.
Now that I look at it again, I have to say it kinda bugs me that whenever I see a smiling Sollux I can't help feeling like it's slightly out of character.
Not that Sollux hasn't his brief smiling moments, but it's generally just smug grinning; because Sollux is essentially a huge a22holey biitch.
So happy Sollux creeps me out like fanfiction-y alternate-universe happy Ayanamis.

Well I'm the same about Sollux. The Falloutstuck version of him is still moody, self-deprecating, and totally clueless sometimes. The face on tope was a "ff why diid thii2 giirl reject me" face. Not happy at all D:

I'm actually using Tracy Butler's Lackadaisy tutorials. They help me a lot.
And yes, I love that expression too. The funny thing it, I drew it by accident - was just doodling on this sheet of paper, then it suddenly appeared.
(The same thing happened with my Feferi design I'm working on right now. I drew a closeup of her face in 5 minutes and now I love it with all my love. All of it .__.)
