What I love about the way you color the DC characters is that you retain the classic bold color look of the silver age and some how manage to blend in newer techniques in a way that really works for me. I would like to see you color some Neil Adams Batman stuff. It almost looks like Mignola drew in the backgrounds for Jim Lee. I like it better than Sinclair coloring for Jim Lee's Batman because It's darker and more gritty and reminds me of Batman comics from the past.

Hmmmm......just for that my next piece will be a Marvel one.

I like when colors pop out more. Believe it or not, I typically just use the generic swatch that comes with Photoshop. Rarely do I ever use the other swatch blends I've created for comic coloring. Most of the time, my swatches are used for 3D texture maps, 'cos they require a lot more color tone than a comic.

As for Sinclair, well, let's just say I'd love to be coloring for Jim Lee full-time. Then again, I wouldn't mind coloring some of YOUR stuff, too! Keep that in mind.

Standard texture maps I use for 3D models that are supposed to be concrete.

I put a lot of effort into texture maps I paint. I just reuse them in 2D comic work when I get the chance.

Are you allowed to do that?

Why not? They're *MY* texture maps?

Just curious. Some companies won't allow that. Whatever you create for the company, they own.

HA! Just 'cos I use a texture map, doesn't mean they own it. They just own the image I used it in.

Companies will take the texture maps as well. Just wanted to be sure.

Yeah, for a 3D model. But, I never give them my originals. I always change them in some way or another. I always paint flesh from scratch, but concrete, wood, etc., I'll always modify one of my plates to use.

Makes sense. Very clever.

I also find it interesting that you give Batman a blue cape, harking back to the classic Batmans, like Neal Adams. Most of Jim Lee's Batman, from Hush to All-Star, I've always seen in monotone black and grey. I find it an interesting change.

Jim Lee likes to draw the old-style suit. As such, I think it should be in blue, not the black and grey depicted recently. It's kinda like Them changing Wolverine's costume. The first was great, the second better and then they went back to the first. I was fine with that, but now, he has a new "image". To me, Wolvie's set in his ways. I can't really see him changing his costume in a sense of style, as they seem to do with all characters in comics.

I'm a fan of the blue and grey Batman. That will never change. However, if it makes you feel better, I can always change it.
