This is day 34 of "a drawing a day", day 6 of "scenes with dresses" week, depicting Tiandriel wearing the fashion of the Ottoman Empire during the last years of the Tanzimat (reorganisation) period discussing recent social changes in the empire with like-minded women while drinking coffee. Inspiration for the outfits came from a set of photos from 1873 that are displayed on the Wikipedia page "Ottoman Clothing" , which may not reflect the actual fashion of the era due to being a showcase of "folk costumes" (and thus, the models could have brought out somewhat outdated but "iconic" apparel to wear for the set), but still provides a fascinating view of the many fashion styles of the multicultural, multiethnic empire. The idea for the scene was that women from various stations and origins but united by an interest in the recent social changes have struck up a friendship over their shared love of conversation and debate.
