Description
Today marks the 77th anniversary of the sad extinction of the thylacine (Thylacinus cynocephalus). The species met its demise on September 7th, 1936 when "Benjamin", the last captive thylacine died in his enclosure in the Hobart Zoo. Benjamin's death is thought to be due to neglect, when the animal was not let into its sheltered sleeping quarters on a cold Tasmanian night.4B Pencil on paper
