Description
The early bird gets the worm. The early photographer gets the shot. I'm a bit unhappy with the shots that I took on this particular trip, but I am also learning the limitations of the kit lens and what it can and cannot do. A new lens is being researched and this one will be sold as soon as it's replaced.2 stop soft GND

Corrected slanted horizon and cloned the empty parts to fill the image without losing resolution on 11/14/08. It was really bothering me. Edit on 2/5/09, uploaded a larger image to offer as a print. Prints also available directly through me with tons of options and guaranteed to be profiled for color through my preferred lab for the best possible look.

Beautiful photograph! You really captured it at the perfect time with the mist on the lake and the soft color and lighting. Although I feel that the horizon line is a bit crooked and I think I'd like if the composition showed the top 2/3 rather than the bottom 2/3.

It is crooked, regrettably. I was there so early and just had issues getting things aligned correctly with how dark it was. I made a mistake and had batteries that were close to dead so my shooting time was rather short. A lesson learned. I think it's time for me to switch to a ball head and continue to use my 3-way for panoramics.

I've straightened it out, but I lose a lot of detail in the image. I'll just have to try again sometime and get it right.
