Stupidity aside with the quote, this doll is the unveiling of Echo's adult self. By this time she has grown up (but is still short for her age) and has dropped the alias "Echo" in favor of her real name. The name 'Echo' was adopted as a name when she was young because she wanted to forget her past. When she grows up she accepts she can't and accepts her old name again. The only difference is that she is no longer Kristal Niteni, and rather has become Kristal Aran. She was adopted by Salina as a child.

When she's older, Kristal goes to work with the Galactic Federation and becomes a scientist. She specializes in biological studies (especially with Metroids for obvious reasons). So she basically becomes what her mother was as far as her career goes. Kristal herself is a human/metroid hybrid so she's capable of taming metroids via telepathy, and capable of a second form of communication via verbal 'echoes' of their cries.

She has a pet metroid that's been with her since childhood. Her metroid was an infant Tallon metroid that grew when exposed to phazon. At some point she released it on Tallon IV and let it grow to its next stage - a hunter metroid. Kristal went back for it and kept it as a pet once more. As a hunter metroid its even more easily agitated so Kristal often has to fight it so it behaves. It usually rams people since A) it's tamed and B) because they naturally do that. At times it will try to drain people's energy, but Kristal is able to stop it quickly.

So that explains the doll! Kristal's just being all NO >C with her rather annoyed pet hunter metroid.

EDIT: Changed the color of a few lines to make them look less harsh against the softer colors.
