Description This was a Rare and lucky find. The complete series of "Godzilla the Series"

for those NOT in the know, Godzilla the Series was the animated sequel to the 1998 "Godzilla" film.
which despite the film being severely disliked, the series that followed was well-received (even the critics who HATES the movie, LOVED the TV series.)

This DVD features all 40 of the episodes, including two unaired episodes never before released.

(Now, why do I get the feeling this DVD is a result of the recent hype over the 2014 Godzilla film?)

I've seen some episodes of this. Β Now THAT is a Godzilla, not the fish-eater from the movie.
Big G, what did you think of that film?

Wow, a fifteen second review.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, there was a three-part episode entitled "Monster Wars" (a tribute to "Destroy All Monsters")
in which this series incarnation of MechaGodzilla was actually the Zilla from the film revived as a "Cyborg Frankenstein"

in the climax of the episode arc, Zilla Jr. tore MechaZilla apart (a monster battle considered the most violent in the series, complete with death throes.)

In that since, the Zilla of the series was killing the Zilla from the movie. So..happy days, I guess.Β

I was about to message you and discuss this series. I was going to ask you if you saw the entire series but I guess if you haven't, NOW you definitely will.

I saw all 40 episodes, including the unaired ones. It's a great show and I wish it wasn't cancelled.

Also Pacific Rim will be getting its own cartoon series at some point before the sequel. It will be a prequel to the first film I think.

At the time I posted this pic, I somehow knew that I would be hearing from you at some point.
and, yes. If I haven't seen all the episodes by know, I eventually will (so, feel free to ask me any questions that you wish on the subject.)

Least the quality of THESE episodes are better than what YouTube had to offer.

I know they've inspired others.

I've read some Godzilla the Series fanfictions, and some aren't always written in the humans perspective.
SOMETIMES they write stories from Zilla's POV (in which he identifies Nick as "Parent", and doesn't like Major Hicks too much.)

Here is one example of what I mean, the "Monster Wars" story arc from Zilla's Perspective: www.fanfiction.net/s/9712097/1…

While we are on the subject of Godzilla, check out this video.

It lists the total damage Zilla caused in the 1998 film. No wonder they were wary of Zilla Jr in the series.

Okay..I'll be serious, here. I had to pause this video halfway on account that I was laughing so hard ("Godzilla f***ing hates random buildings.")

Okay, time to be serious.

Yes, I can't imagine a giant monster rampaging through a metropolis is anything good (well, except for Real Estate Developers. THEY probably head Godzilla Fan Clubs)

but, people are also wary of anything that's big enough to literal step on them like cockroaches.

but, yeah: "$4, 890, 413, 621" worth of property damage is nothing to sneeze at, either.

I just grinned knowing I made you laugh hard.

Yeah, no surprise there. They most likely do head Godzilla Fan Clubs. I bet they were p*ssed when Zilla got killed in the end. But look on the bright side guys, Zilla Jr and all the other mutations from the Series made you all rich no?

I wonder what damage the 2014 Godzilla caused in his fight with the MUTOs, it doesn't show much of the fight but it's implied to have been going on for hours nonstop. It was day when the battle started and it ends well after midnight. Darn San Francisco, that whole city is gonna have to be redone. You know how Zilla got trapped in a bridge? Even Zilla Jr got trapped. Godzilla 2014 took his revenge on the Golden Gate Bridge.

It's because of this series that Zilla was added to the Godzilla comic series (which featured a pretty good fight between Zilla and the original Godzilla)

I don't believe I've ever seen of heard ofΒ such a comic book.

It was in "Godzilla: Rulers of Earth" by IDW Comics.

Well, nice to know that Zilla isn't completely forgotten in this day and age.

Zilla's an awesome character, so I'm definetly glad he's starting to get some attention.
