Description
This is part of an Expanded Transformers Fanon that i am doing..Okay, we ALL know pretty much the full story on "The Matrix of Leadership"
it holds a portion of Primus Spark, was bestowed to Optimus Prime
and, contains the absolute Knowledge of Cybertron and the Dynasty of Primes.
BUT..what if there was a DARK Matrix??
one that contained a portion of Unicron's Spark??
Well, i did my best colored sketch of a side-by-side comparison of The Matrix and it's Dark Counterpart.
I'm pretty much gonna leave you fans to decide (in your own way)
exactly HOW the Dark Matrix Works, and how it differs from the Regular Matrix.
but, i think it's pretty obvious: One "Lights Our Darkest Hour.."
The Other "Darkens Our Brightest Hour.."

I figured that as The Matrix holds Primus spark,
I really wondered what would happen if Unicron's spark was contained in a similar Matrix.
Plus, I really wondered what would happen if there really was a Decepticon Matrix
(if so, then It may only work for the Darkest, and most Evil of Tyrants..such as Megatron)
There is also talk that Unicron is "The Anti-Spark"
a polar opposite to the AllSpark of Primus.

Anyway..I've already begun using 'the Dark Matrix' in my fiction.
in my Ben 10/Transformers crossover,
I wrote a flashback in which Vilgax used the Dark Matrix to combat Autobots using Dark Energon Attacks
(I figured Vilgax is the one Ben 10 villain worthy enough to wield Unicron's Power, being a Warlord and destroyer of worlds.)
the only thing that could really repel the Unicron Matrix, is the Primus Matrix.

If you see longer down on this page, you see I link to two different comics with a Dark Matrix. They have two different names for it, but it is housing Unicron's essence.

There is something similar called the dead matrix, its in the chest of a version of optims prime that after a great battle found himself in another dimension and unicron filled his lifeless body with his own essence and that's what in my opinion is the most dangerous version of nemesis prime came to be, if the dead matrix is opened any where near primus than that's all she wrote for the autobots and transformer that run of regular energon in general.

that's awesome! (heck, that could even be the thing the Quintessons told megatron about in G1, the Decepticon matrix of Leadership! that could be it man! and it'd hold the heart of Dark Energon, and only Megatron would be worthy enough in the eyes of Unicron to wield it [or not, in the movie he was, in almost everything else Unicron just destroyed everything! so I guess that's up to you.])

except, in the G1 canon, no such thing existed.
but, assuming it DID
Megatron or Shockwave would be good candidates for 'Unicron's Chosen'
I also envision that since Both Matrix holds the lifeforce of the 'Transformer Gods'
then, said keepers should be able to channel into Primus/Unicron's power thru 'Energon Energy'
AND, perhaps the other way around
with Primus or Unicron becoming one with the bodies of the keepers.
(Similair to how Unicron briefly possessed Megatron on 'Transformers Prime')
the Gods could also speak to the Keepers thru the Matrix as well
(I envision it being on a Mental scale, similair to Professor X/Shadow King at the Astral Plane.)

yes, I know it didn't but this might be it if it did! and you might be right about that too, the smaller robots have possessed the bigger bots bodies from time to time, could work the same the other way around I guess.

Interesting design.
Now about it existing in G1 canon, well, not exactly G1, but here is a Matrix that existed in comics canon of Beast Wars: [link] , which is the opposite of Matrix of Leadership.

Those two linked to seems to be one and the same, due to the description.
