PLEASE FULL VIEWI don't think you people realize how much it loses when it gets switched over to png format, then shrunk down in size...>.>...
But this is for my lovely LJ friend combine_rinraw, shortly ago known as gothic_kaiba...
It's a Happy Birthday/ I Love You pic! XDD
It always seems when she writes the entries that really need replying to, and just needs her friends there, it always takes me two weeks in the least before I'm on and knowing about everything...>.>...
Then there was the fact I was finally able to get on about four days AFTER her birthday....
Point being, as a friend, I fail at timing...really badly...>.<...
This is also a slightly older pic, I had it planned out to give it to her a while ago, never could get the colors to what I wanted, so when I missed her birthday, I said screw it, and finished it on the spot...
I messed up on the water, did that LAST, not first, and I overdid it on light effects and such...I was only trying to make it look pretty...XP
But I still like how it came out...though I think I could have done the shadows darker and better, I shall work on that on my next picture...until then, enjoy! ^_^

i admit the shiny lights are a bit of an overkill (*____* for like five seconds all i could say was SHINYYY xD i have a weakness for shiny.) but overall the colours still look rahter pleasing to the eye, so that's alright then. xD
and i know you say crit discouraged, but like heck i am giving you a long comment.

o_o Tell me about it....if it weren't for the fact all my long ago sketches suck, I'd probably go back and re do everything...XDD
And yes, improvement is a good thing! XD Not quite where I want to be, but I'm working on it....the whole thing of layers....nice, very nice....
And yes...MAJOR overkill on lights....your reaction was the same I had when I was finished with it! XD It looks better when it's smaller and such, but big like that and you can see everything...>.>.....
And don't worry, whenever I post critique discouraged.....you just go right on ahead....I value you opinion very much love....you be one hell of an exception! XD It's more of one for those who comment off the main page, and of that only, my friends on this are free to go nuts on me! XDD

xD yeah, when you compare ms paint and photoshop, it is simply no fight at all, no fight... i mean, firstly, the layers! i can never live without layers now. no way. o____o
but eh, like i say, your shading and colouring style is otherwise very easy on the eyes. just resist the temptation to shinify everything the next time! xD; it's pretty enough as it is already.
