Maya is the child-program of Xara and Revit , and thus 'grew up' in both of their shadows -- moreso her mother. As a result, when the new musical sensation Amp came along, Maya was quick to abandon her parents' ideas of her and run the grid with him as his manager. For several cycles, it was a blissful relationship built on high-grade energy and interfacing... until Maya realized that it didn't hold the allure for her it once did. Amp, however, had no intentions of giving up his flamboyant lifestyle and it was then that their relationship as lovers ended. Since then, she has remained as his manager but has little patience for his unscheduled publicity stunts and tendency to disappear mere nanocycles before a show to go do what he pleases.

She has even less patience for the variety of programs he 'brings home'.
