You would know what they say about the Danse Macabre. A dance of death in it's literal meaning; a ghastly waltz, a cadaverous promenade. As if you, the blithesome lie, was dancing face to face with the forlorn truth. How you managed to avoid the signals that you would soon become the blithesome lie in this story, was all an enigma.
You were far beyond redemption. Nobody could save you now, because you were too wrapped up in the sublime experience of being at death's fingertips, held over a cliff, about to fall. You had always been teetering over the edge, looking into the abyss of bereavement, but with a strong grasp on your wrist to save you. For now, the voice of death spoke, Until you are no long worthy of my help.
I shall make a nice feast out of you.
In reality, the grim image of the ghastly, gaunt figure of death was far more humane, more covert in his objectives. You, as yourself, was not the image of the serenity of life, but a scarred and torn victim. This man had promised you everything that you wanted - a free life, a right not to be hit, a voice you so desperately craved.
You weren't from the most prettiest of origins, but that is how you attracted the somber individual. You weren't a crass high class individual who called upon their help for more riches. Much like money, you were used, and abused. It was a vicious cycle you had to endure, an issue that society had turned it's back on long ago. You were a woman; nothing more than an object, a pretty ornament.
Then one night, after having had enough and on the brink of suicide itself, he came to you in short hallucination. Standing on the other side of the ledge, his blood red eyes screaming at you in the voices of thousands of other souls.
"What use will become of you if you do this?" the ghastly, yet handsome hallucinated man spoke.
There was a silence for a few moments. You hesitated, not wanting to speak. This wasn't real in any way, yet you felt like arguing your point. Your hand that was gently resting on your shoulder, holding up one strap of your night gown, fell, exposing your bare shoulder.
A purple bruise and several other red marks were dotted along your shoulder and collar bones, with bruises intensifying as they went lower down your arm and presumably, your body. Your lips parted.
"What use is there?" You whispered, the serene night breeze making you shudder, "I'm like a piece of fruit, bruised more and more as I fall more and more, dropped by many people..." You stuttered,"Like..."
"Like what?" The man interjected, impatiently, feathers falling at his feet. They were an ebony black in colour. Presumably the colour of his soul, too.
You bit the soft muscled external organ, shouting a little louder this time, but still not loud enough for others to hear, "Like I am worthless. Oh, what am I saying, I am. What can I do to escape?"
"Go on." The man commanded.
You looked at the man weirdly, snapping out of the 'hallucination', but he was still there. The feathers were still at his feet. What on Earth's name was he?
"Who exactly are you?" You questioned, looking at him up and down. The man let out a small chuckle at your question, a smirk arising on his straight lips. He glanced upwards, as if remembering.
"That is classified, miss. Please continue." The man commanded, before laughing again, as if something had just crossed his mind, "Please, call me Sebastian Michaelis. I have business with you."
You stepped backwards as your heart raced. Oh no, this would not be pretty. A man like him? There was not good vibes coming from him. None at all, yet you felt strangely drawn to him. You scrambled on the desktop as Sebastian chuckled once more. The feathers at his feet flew into the air and laid out his entrance into the room from the window.
"Miss, I am not here for that kind of business." He stepped down from the window sill, into the dark room, black dress shoes crushing a white feather. It was full of multiple beds, full of women, young and old, all each with the same soul crushing purpose. Sebastian seemed to ignore them as he bent down, as if bowing. He upturned his head to look at you dead in the eyes, as you saw his crimson eyes up close, uttering, "Would you like to form a contract with me?"
You hesitated, but took a deep breath. After being on the brink of exiting the world in a swift jump, and the fact that if you stayed you would be severely mistreated, what could go wrong? The man- Sebastian, Sebastian had a bad aura. It was if everything he touched became lifeless, and black in colour.
There was a knock at the door, as a rough male voice resonated throughout the room, "Wake up, wenches!" as the door started to creep open. Your heart rate raced. It was about to be another day in your life, as the abused fruit, the ornament. Continuing the life you were sold into, by someone you trusted the most.
No.
You couldn't go back to that after being offered an opportunity out of it. Sebastian was still bowing, as you nodded shakily.
"Y-yes. Take me far away from here." You ordered, as he grabbed your wrist. The door creaked further, as you were taken into his arms, as your feet rested on the window. Sebastian was dangling you second from an cold, crushing death.
"Just say the words, miss, and I am yours. I can save you." He asked, charmingly eyeing you up, as if he wanted to devour you. As his eyes shined a fluorescent pink, you knew he wasn't a human. Yet, that enticed you more.
"I wish to form a contract!" You shouted, as his grin grew wider. He licked his lips at the sight of you, letting his feet fall. His hands clamped around your chest, as you felt a mind numbingly painful sensation on your chest that, for a second, overshadowed the fear of certian death as you both fell.
"What are you doing?" You screeched, inches from certain death when you felt a jolt of Sebastian hitting the floor, feet first, flawlessly. He put you down in the middle of the road, walking back towards the brothel.
With every graceful footstep, the aura around him began to glow red, instead of a deathly black. Red was the colour of danger, as he cracked his neck and wrist. Gently opening the door of the empty lobby of the unforgiving hellhole, he laid his hand to rest on the dirty carpet beneath his feet, which had seen more men than any war that had taken place. There was a flicker, before the carpet itself was glowing a bright orange, being engulfed in flames. Sebastian watched with a smile, as this fire quickly spread up the walls, as if a client itself, intent on destruction. Sebastian shut the door behind him, walking slowly back towards you. The screams of a few women were heard as Sebastian smirked back at you, in a tenebrous manner.
You watched through crystal eyes as your nightmare shattered in front of your eyes. Every little outcome you thought of the horrible place, whether it was death, disease, or destruction, the orgasmic feeling of your horrors, your sadness, was on fire as the building went silent. as fire seeped out through the top floor windows.
Sebastian turned to you, looking at you in the eyes, with the same murderous glaze he had when he started the fire, "Now, here comes the painful part."
"What is painful?" You asked, tears brimming your eyes from relief, but you wiped them away to appear formal in front of the tall, solemn man.
"You don't know what you've gotten yourself into, have you, dear?" He smiled smugly, "I am not human. Far from that. By accepting the contract, your soul... It belongs to me, until your wish is fulfilled."
"You're a fairy?" You asked, confused, one eyebrow raised as Sebastian looked visibly affronted by that term.
"No, I am a demon. Once I'm done with you, I will devour your soul as a whole. You'll become mine, but until then, I am here to serve you, my lady." Sebastian explained, hungrily devouring you with his eyes. It was like he was a wolf who had not eaten for a few years.
"And how do you know I am already yours?" You stubbornly interjected, coming to your wits. You didn't want to be taken as a complacent fool by this stranger and treated like tragic filth clouding his perfect lens.
Sebastian bent over to undo the buttons of your night gown, as you looked visibly flushed and angered at his unforeseen action.
"Pervert!" You slapped his hand away, but he only persisted, causing you to become annoyed. Had this man no clue of your tragic origins?
Slowly and somewhat seductively, Sebastian took off one of his gloves, as you caught sight of a mark that signaled this deal, this man, was far worse than he looked. Sebastian put his cold hands on the bare skin of your chest, the left side of your night gown falling a little to expose your shoulder. Looking down as his fingers traced the exact copy of the design of the insignia on his hand.
"What does this mean?" You asked. You now knew why you felt that shooting pain while falling. He was simply confirming the deal. He most definitely wasn't an fairy - no, he was a demon.
"It means..." Sebastian grabbed your cheeks softly with his hands, thumb and fingers clenched on your cheeks tightly with his hand around your jaw, pulling you closer to him. You tried to fight his force, but his pink eyes burned into you intensely.
"It means, you are mine. When you try to run, I will find you. When you are in trouble, I will find you. No matter where you are, I will find you." His breath was warm on your cheek, the condensation a somewhat nice feeling in the cold outside. Using his other hand, he brushed the hair out of your hair. With a gentle whisper, he spoke words that sent shivers down your mortal body.
"And oh, do believe me, when we're done, I will make one hell of a feast out of you."
