It's actually been done with a mechanical pencil, and a "normal" pencil for the shading.
Colouring was added in Photoshop. ♥

That's funny, because they're called something else here too (portamine); and when someone first mentioned "mechanical pencils" to me, I was all "WHAAAAT? " and had to look it up myself.

I like to think that all the bat-boys have got got blue eyes... but with a peculiar, unique shade to them. Which is really difficult to render in a painting, but it's a nice thought, all the same.

Yup, I agree on that. Both Tim and Dick have got a leaner/lither frame, I believe. Whereas Bruce and Jason are more brawlers: more raw strenght and feline power. With Damian it's still too soon to judge, I think (though he *did* look even more pumped up than Bruce in Batman issue #666).

Yeah, Damian really filled-out when he got older. Tim and Dick get to be pretty with all of their flips, and the others get to be brawlers. I suppose Steph falls into the former category, but she had a mean uppercut.
