Description I'm updating my DA with some oldie. Today, I'm re-releasing my "Building Protoman" set, but with a slighty (muchly) bigger size, as to better appreciate the details.

This set stemmed from this thought... HOW was Protoman built?
Was he heaped together in all haste, lying on a dirty corner of an equally as dirty room?
Did Dr Light manage to furnish his tenement with hi-tech equipment, scavenged from wherever, maybe left behind when Wily took over, herding all the citizens in the central core of the city?
Did he develop Protoman inside a highly advanced chamber?
Was his firstborn attached to consoles and machines, or was he lying on a bench, chest open like dead man’s, exposing the circuitries underneath?

Uhm… Personally, I like all of the above. And if you move about carefully, you can make each of the previous theories believable, and well within canon. So I tried to explore each possibility with a raw sketch.

I have the STRONG suspicion this sketch (#1 of the set)was all an excuse to:
a) have fun drawing robotic parts on an otherwise human-looking unclad body; and
b) to heap tons of subtext in the pic (the martyr crucified…).

Maybe it's because I'm not used to looking at robots, but seeing a half-built person is slightly disturbing, but your artwork is as wonderful as ever!

I think I know what you mean... us robo-lovers (I was abou to type robo-freaks *lol*) really dig these kind of pictures, usually. But I bet that from any other pov they *do* look a tad distrubing.
I'm very glad you found this pretty enough to comment on it, even despite the disturbing factor.

I was happy I had something else to say other than "It's wonderful!" 'Cause that seems to be all I ever say, and it probably sounds redundant after a while. . . .

Not at all! It's always nice to know what you think of my works, and even if it's just one-word reviews, they're really, REALLY appreciated!
