Description My first Batman&Robin pic... ever. ♥

This one had my mother gushing *SO* much. We're all bat-junkies in the family, apparently. XD

I really did like what I did with the last Protoman pic [link] and since I was in a total funk with another drawing (My first ever Nightwing pic... Gosh, I'm in a Batman rush or what? XD;;; ), I threw myself onto this.
It could be refined some more, I think; but what's the point in using a grundge brush, if then I go and retouch every little spot?

The Batman & Robin featured here are the very first ones: Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson. As much as I'm tempted to draw Bat!Dick and Robin!Damian one day, they just don't hold the same place in my heart as the original Dynamic Duo.

Enjoy!

Wonderful iconic piece. At this point in my life, it just seems *odd* for there to be a Batman without a Robin nearby for pieces like this one. The dark and the light, animus and anima, Hades and Persephone -- you know the drill. The grotesque is utterly fabu, and I love the sense of quiet and *tense* calm here. I'm so glad Nonie sent me to your DA!

Batman and Robin are this... indivisible twosome, to me. :3
I'm shamelessly partial to the first dynamic duo when I say this, but Batman and Robin embody the principles of Taoism to perfection. All their incarnations manage that to some extent, even the future Batman with his Toy Wonder, but there's something about the original Dynamic Duo that's just... special.

I'm truly glad that you liked this one. It was not just my first published piece of Batman fanwork, but also the very first one I ever made. My first Batman, my first Robin. I was nervous about posting it, I won't deny it.

Again, thank you so much for all your awesome comments. And welcome to my DA!! ^^/

*glomps right back*
Oh, yes, Batman is so... so... *SQUEALS*
We don't get (or rather *did* not get) to read/know all of the american superheroes here in my country. But Batman? EVERYONE knows Batman, here. He's always been *special*. I was never active in the fandom before, but a local channel started broadcasting *ALL* the movies, from the first one by Tim Burton, to those directed by Nolan. Batman's back in vogue, and just about ALL kids in school have been gushing about him lately, so I had this sudden... spark, re-igniting this passion. (Make it family tradition, I know mom read me Bat comics when I was a toddler XD;;;;;;;; )

That is cool. I actually went as Batman one Halloween to a ballet class back when I was, like, five. It was awesome. Also stuck out like a sore thumb because the other girls' costumes were varieties of pink and white.

Awwwwwwwww, I can just picture that! <3
I remember I was always the class' "black sheep", because I liked stuff boys were supposed to like instead than the pink 'n sugary stuff, but I never got to dress up as a male character (until I was old enough to cosplay, at least XD;;;; )

lol My dad made me a Superman costume when I was three, so I've been doing it for a while. I was also Spiderman one year. I've always been the "black sheep", too, simply because not many people wanted to play with me unless I had something good to play with, like Scooby Doo playing cards or a cool board game.

I wasn't exactly the black sheep, I think, but I came damn close... I suppose I was the geek? I was too shy to approach other kids, and when I finally did, I was always so hesitant... plus, I watched boys stuff on TV and didn't go crazy for pink, which apparently made me "odd". *eyeroll*
