"Have I ever told you how I got my scar?"Some Lion Guard fanart before I slam down on comms!
So i've been seeing this Lion Guard scene where it shows how Scar got his scar. Apparently a snake lashed out at him and give his more signature characteristic. I feel as though Disney could have been more creative but I suppose this was interesting..It's just odd how this little snake gives a big lion a huge scar hahaha.Β Its all over my DA feed so I thought I should draw the scene in my style also
I have an itching feeling that the mystery lion (right) is Zira's father or relative. Come on now, the eyes, the hole in his ear, the stripe on his head! Dead on match to Zira!
I've never even seen the Lion Guard before haha! Enjoy!

It could also have been a lie.
However he could know what a cobra could do to Kion through other means but We can take him at his word I suppose.

This was one of the many things I utterly and completely despised about The Lion Guard. This back story is so gruesomely childish and silly. It honestly ruined Scar for me. I much prefer the 2019 remake back story, hell, even the book's version. But this one was just awful. Great art though!

Very true, the 2019 and book versions were much more dramatic. The 2019 version having Mufasa as the source of the scar after their duel gives Scar a bigger reason to hate his brother. The book version makes it much more thematic by having the scar be caused by Taka's plan to humiliate Mufasa backfire, which would relate to the movie by showing that Scar's actions are the cause of his misfortunes as shown when he's eaten by the Hyenas after trying to throw them under the bus. The whole snake bite situation removes Scar's agency as a character, all the blame is pinned on the strange lion and his cobra friend's venom making Scar into the psychopath we know. The art is well done though, the wound on the eye especially.Β

Scar didn't go to Mufasa for help, he went to Mufasa to give his report on how he stopped the Strange Lion's plan and killed him. He expected to treated as a hero but Mufasa just gives him the Scar nickname and walks away, completely disrespecting Scar and his accomplishment. So Mufasa is at some fault for being a little shit, but they were young adults by that point in their lives. Mufasa was probably playing around and didn't realize he really hurt his brother by doing that. As for the venom, I didn't mean it made people evil. The venom eats away at the brain due to the bite being aimed at the eye/head area. Scar never got the venom treated so it ate away at his brain until he became an unempathetic psychopath. We see that with Kion in season 3, he starts lashing out and his decent into psychopathy grows before he is cured of the venom.

I am always happy to see some fanart from you! I love how this looks! I also think the way Scar got his Scar is weird, they practically say that the snake venom make Scar bad xD but I'm not disappointed, I like the concept! I also learn to no put nicknames to my little siblings xDDD

The lion guard's version of Scar's scar is strange in my opinion, but I do like the aftermath- I think, while Scar would be pissed about Mufasa calling him ''Scar'' when he didn't like it, he wouldn't deem him unworthy as a king if the snake bit didn't influence him.

I think it's interesting(though not necessarily good) that they implied that the snake bite was the catalyst for Scars fall to evil.Β
That bothers me however, since it takes away some of Scar's accountability.
Plus, as it's been commented, that kind of venom shouldn't just have mess with Scar's mind, it should have killed him.

Yeah i found the whole snake car thing stupid to especially since a cobra bit him and most cobras and snake in Africa are venomous, Scar should have died in agony moments laterΒ
