So yeah, here's the concept for my August journal design. If I could design any journal CSS without worrying about any coding, This is what it would look like. It's my entry to *ginkgografix 's eCSSellence Contest , which is one of my only chances to get this thing coded properly.
I kept everything clean and simple, making sure not to have anything that would distract the reader from the content (heh, you DID read it!). It allows room for plenty of text and a bunch of thumbs. I'm pretty sure that the blur of the text to create a glow effect is possible through coding, though I'm not sure if the blur behind the glass effect is possible. The background is a stock from sxc.hu to which I made some color and levels adjustments.
Public or private... uhm... I'm going to go with public in order to make everyone happy.

The CSS for this journal is finally available for download.
Since the re-coding of it apparently will never happen, I'm releasing the orgininal coding. I recommend that you host the background image on your own (free hosting sites such as imageshack.us and Photobucket are easy to use). When you host the background image, be sure to change the URL in line 8 of the CSS to point to the image that you have hosted. I'm going to also ask that you please leave my avatar in the bottom right and do not replace it with your own because without that, there is no credit to me for the design. So please be fair. and YES, REMOVING MY AVATAR FUCKS UP THE JOURNAL. HAH.

tell me something... you make layout in PS and then you code it in DW? how do you make that whole journal is one box, that everything is together?????????

This layout was done in GIMP , and coded/will be recoded using the CSS box of dA's journal entry section.
For the content being in one box, it can be done using the same method as in my May 2007 Journal CSS . Scrounge around the code and you'll find the right element.

Nice. I see that every part has .journalbox in front of it. That means that that wraps everything in one box?

Whoah, heh, just cleaning out my old comments right now. Yeah, .journalbox covers everything within the journal itself, but I think you should be looking for something like box1 or box2 etc.

i love this, Its got a real elegant feel to it, and simple but yet NEW feel to it. I wish that was avaliable for CSS coding, This is axactly what i'm looking for

It's finished right now (check my current journal); I haven't thought about releasing it for a while. Aight, I'll get to packaging it (documentation and such) the next chance I can.
