Description
I didn't know what to put this under because it's got Timon and Triko (my cheetah character). This is for 's contest where we had to draw one of our characters with a Lion King canon character. This is Triko racing Timon. It might look unfair, but it's actually a pretty even race. Triko hates running and will avoid it whenever possible.
Clouds rendered from a tutorial found here: [link] What an amazing artist.

gosh I LOVE the dimensions (what the heck is the right word?) of this pic and how you've gone for the panoramic shot. Lovely bright colours give the whole pic and characters a sunny happy feel. Shadows are subtle, but just right (I think so anyway) for that hot time of day.

What an awesome BG, I'm gonna check out that cloud tutorial once I've typed this and you didn't use the PS grass brush! Fantastic, I rarely see non-brushed grass these days. *is guilty* the characters look great too. You did a good job on the poses

Thanks. I actually hate that brush because I can never get it to look how I want it to look in my pictures. You seem to be able to handle it well, but it just never works for me.
It's an amazing tutorial... the best I've ever found.

Excellent pic -- the expressions really supplement eachother. The clouds and background give it a perfect touch, and the curvature of the horizon is immaculate to life.

Wow, you noticed the curvature? I kinda threw that in as a last minute detail thing, but I forgot if the horizon curved up or down and was too lazy to look it up. I just kinda figured no one would see it. :Þ

In photography, depending on the camera lens you're using and the angle you're shooting at, it could look to curve either way, and given the perspective of this one, it looks natural for it to curve up at the edges the way you have it. Ideally, it wouldn't appear to curve at all, but it's a distortion of the lens.
I like your signature BTW Calvin and Hobbes rule...

I'm digging the horizontal format. It emphasizes the plains, the horizon, and that feeling of "wide open spaces". Very nice clouds! I know from experience that it's hard to paint convincing clouds, but yours look good. I like how your cheetah's hardly breaking a sweat and poor Timon's running at full speed.
Thanks for linking the tutorial! I'll take a look at it.
