Sorry for going MIA most of today: I have finally got down and make an entry to ImazArtz ' 600 watchers contest
This is Cyro's princess wolfie Elythia ^V^ I wanted to draw her in this semi realistic style since that is what I love about your art so I wanted to make you just a bit proud of me trying it out myself even if I failed that is actually why I started doing fooling around with semirealistic digital art in the first place

It doesn't look too much like the reference but I kind of like it especially the back with the light touching the markings

You talked about brushes and how you judge on how many brushes we have used?
- I sketched using the paint brush
- I used the paint brush for every base layer (I think I have 7 different layers just for the character ) then added variation and strands of hair with a brush tool - the water colour tool was used if I was not satisfied with an area because it could even the area so I could try again
- I have also used the paint brush for the eyes to make them look more in focus
- For the blue markings I've first drawn on an overlay layer then on luminoisty layers where I have smoothed the edges off by using the blur tool - I have too luminosity layers in different transparency to give a shine effect
- for the background I used the paint brush for the base colour, then the air brush for the circles - the spots have been added by dotting with the paint brush
- For light and shadow I have used the paint brush and blur tool on either a shade or luminosty layer

I hope this makes sense
I can sum it up to be 5 brushes X'D

I didn't take time on my process this time but have decided to show the progress in another way:
I will upload a progress gif in a moment so you and everyone interested can see how I drew her ^V^
