A spider lad, walking his spider mama to every doorstep. Who needs the sidewalk, anyway?This here is my entry for a little gem of a contest going on over here at ConceptWorld for their bi-weekly challenge, themed: "Spooktacular."
In total, the piece took me about 7 hours from start to finish and over here I've got a link [link] to my progress shots from various points during the project so you can see the shambly skeleton of my piece, should you so chose. (honestly I could have picked better moments, but I did get a bit lost in my work...shoot me if you must.)

Looks like you've really stepped out of your comfort zone to add some depth to your piece.
The love you have for this piece really shows through the details and the storyline is not only unique but its also fresh and imaginative.
Great job on the colours, shadows and also the smoke.

Oh wow. Thank you very much, sir. I have been stepping away from my comfort zone all my life, and I'm glad I got the incentive to move into this area. This group has inspired me very much and I'd love to partake in these contests again and again. You guys have got one of the best interactive group ideas I've seen on this site. Plus I love clicking along through the galleries and getting inspired to work even more at producing original designs.
