Description Not long before I finished this project, probably a few days ago. Using oil pastel can be challenging but rewarding in the end if you know what you're doing with the medium. Scratching into the layered pastel was even more fun, as I did it with two light background silhouettes. The entire piece is made of layers just made into different textures.

Media used: oil pastel

Hi, I saw the initial oil pastel in the Group's Inspiring Creation's  artistic help folder in which you asked about the background for this drawing. I think you made a great choice of using a triad color scheme for it in the background. It compliments the figure and even Though it is bright it  does not overpower your main focus and makes the figure really stand out.  I really like the additions of the shadowed figures behind her.  They adds great interest but does not detract from your main subject.

This background I feel really adds a powerful mood to the drawing. In combination with the body posture of the girl it definitely give me the feeling that this person is feeling very separated and alone.  I feel you added the perfect background to complete  this drawing.
