I like (love!) the rays of light shining through the trees in the background. What makes it really eerie is that there're no small plants trying to grow around the big trees. They just suck the life out of everything around them, don't they?

And you can tell you put detail into the roots. I really like the Arthur-feel in this piece. That being in the stump seems most interesting, some sort of quasi-dryad whose ancient crimes or violations of natural order have led to it banished to the deepest depths of a secluded and overgrown forest? Fun to think about. Something tells me something is very wrong for that poor knight, or knightess? To sit there on your knees, perhaps asking for help from a strange creature, something must be very wrong.
I really like how you added that board in the lower right corner, makes me think at some time there were human settlements here. Perhaps the knight is seeking to sacrifice himself (or herself) in order to save his (her) kingdom. This picture does nothing but spur my imagination, and the sketchy style lends itself brilliantly to this piece. The source of light by that knight is a little vague, perhaps some very subtle light beams from above may have established a reason for the brightness? At any rate a minor issue, fantastic work and inspired design.
