This is an excellent piece though my brain gets a bit caught up in what looks like an extension cord coming out of the bird cage.Β The composition is really nice.

Monochromatic paintings are difficult to pull off. I know... I've tried a few over the decades.
Β Many who teach (I would not agree with them) tell students to shy away from such project ideas.
This is a clear example of using the design premise to generate a superior result. This is extremely eye catching, and continually mesmerizing.

Not a window, an open folding screen, and a part of the cage is visible by transparency behind it
