She said yes when the doctor and vet tech came to the car

and She didn't lift her head, just looked up with tired eyes.

She said yes when She laid her head in my hands.

She raised it briefly with the poke of the needle

and rested it in my hands again before the sedative.

She was so tired. She was ready.

We are never ready to let go of love.
