Description This shows my first flight stabilizer test arm attempt (made in 2008 after being inspired by Iron Man) next to my latest version (2012) which was made to look movie-accurate. So, it's been completely re-designed and made to fit my arm perfectly!

I made the Arc Reactor a while back, (based on the Mk. 1 style) but it's casing is new. I made that using construction foam, PVC and plexiglass.
The big black lightsaber-looking thing is actually a high-powered blue laser. It illuminates the clear fiber-optic tube that you see attached to the palm repulser.

And yes, everything lights up!
It all runs on two 9-volt batteries

It's made of plastic PVC pipe, a little metal and some wood, all painted silver to look like metal.
There's around 15 - 20 pieces of individually cut pieces of PVC that I screwed together with short finishing screws. (glue works too, but I liked the industrial look where the spot welds should be)
Once all the pieces were fit together, I used two nylon bolts for the elbow hinge. Then painted it all silver.
After that, I got creative with a bunch of old wire and aluminum tubing. That's all held in place with my amazing glue gun skillz.
Once it was all together, I just added a little foam padding under the frame to prevent it from scratching my arm, and it's done!

As for the Arc Reactor- that required a lot more precision work. You'll need some 22 gauge copper wire, sheet metal , and some precision bending /filing /cutting tools. (and white LEDs)

It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun
