A zillion years ago I did a painted reinterpretation of the original cover of TMNT#4 to be used as the cover for the reprint. That image was then used on a bunch of products, posters etc so lots of Turtle fans remember it fondly. This year at Comic Con, Nickelodeon redid it once again, using the current CG Turtle look and had the cast sign it. I didn't get a copy myself but it looked cool!Related content

I first saw that image on the first NES Ninja Turtles Game. Just a few years ago I bought the reprint of Issue 4 that has that as the cover on Ebay for $30. I've wanted the poster forever. I started watching the new series and about pissed myself when I saw this pop up in my deviations. It was that image that solidified You (Michael Dooney) as the definitive TMNT Artist.Β

lots of folks say that they like that pic, ironically a few years back I made a print of it and it didn't sell as well as most TMNT prints...I give up trying to figger these things out

It's funny, that piece is such a big fan favorite, but when I made a print of it for cons, I only sold a handful of them. Everybody would comment and talk about how they had the poster or the video game or the lunch box or whatever, but it didn't sell nearly as well as other TMNT prints I've made over the years...weird! So if you have one of those prints, I think I only made about 20 of them ....ebay!!!!

Holly monkey, this is such a classic image, I used to draw turtles so much back in 1991-93 and this was one of my inspirations.... Sir, all the respect and admiration I had for your art has grown even more, and it really embaresses me for not knowing that this was yours!!!!
