I almost always pick the fire type. I know water is more practical but how many good fire types are there that aren't starters or legendaries? I might go for the water-type this time. I chose Froakie for Y but that's because I got the Torchic with the Blazikenite.

I chose froakie for aesthetic reasons. I am not a very good pokemon trainer because I rely too much on aesthetic preference rather than actual usefulness in battle haha!
