man, I love the style of your stuff. Is the blocking in a natural way you think, or is it a conscious choice?

The blocky colours are reworked a lot, so they're contrived, but I'm not thinking any more complexly than "does this feel right?"
Which is a very unhelpful way to try to reveal my process, but that is what it seems like to me. Β Lots of trial and error and improvising.

nah, I think that is wonderful! It's actually cool to know that, because where you ultimately end up placing them has a definite feeling of confidence, despite it being reworked so much. They have a nice element of completeness to them - I would definitely like to learn a thing or two about that! Thanks for replying : D

I think I owe a lot to life drawing years ago while in college. Β It was an animation program, so the poses were very fast, sometimes only 10-30 seconds. Β The idea of simplifying planes of the body, and trying to communicate them with quick strokes, is likely a major basis for my current style.
