Very nice. Good pose, great perspective on the figure and belt. However, I can't help but feel the cape doesn't look right. The wrinkles on the cape look really thick and seamed up, more so than his clothing. I dunno what I'm trying to get at, except that the material just looks stiffer than his actual clothes. I imagine, with that amount of deformation, that the cape is thinner, less of the double-lined seams and maybe straighter overall.

The comment box encouraged advanced critique, maybe that helped, maybe it didn't. In any event, a good piece nonetheless.

Well, I wanted the cape to more of a canvas-like material, I didn't want it to be the usual spandex shoulder hugging material. my idea behind the cape is that it is a weighted material and, like batman begins, can briefly be used as a hang-gliding type device. The double lined seams are piping that provide a "skeleton" for the cape and should be be more rigid than the rest of the cape. The cape can afford to be stiffer than his clothes because it, for the most part, is not in his way, whereas, his normal clothing has to bend and conform to his body allowing for ease of movement. The cape also has to be fire resistant, bulletproof, and impact resistant, making a thicker cape better. I know most people wont look to hard into the cape, but thanks for doing it.

That's sounds very plausible. I guess I'm just used to the movie versions where they're hard molded plastic or the adam west version where it's a tent.

I like it a lot. I like that he doesn't look like your conventional superhero, that he actually has that kind of "I might be heroic, I might be insane" vibe going for him. Even the way you have him descending from above looks like he might've accidentally fallen, or he might have jumped on purpose. I like the textures of the costume, I like the way you made his eyes visible. This is a great rendition of a great character, very modern, very gritty, and very unique. Awesome job!

thanks a lot, I appreciate it, I always like how they did the eyes in the movies, even after I realized that they had to add mascara to make the skin around the eye black. Yes its true. Batman wears mascara...
