Seriously, I think you worked on a brilliant exercise here, 3 totally different looks with the same greyscale and they all look lush and completely separate.. I love 'em.
I wish I painted like you so I could do this!.. layers.. curse those goddamn layers!

Yes, I have been using it with EVERYTHING now. Photo retouching to illustrator. But PS scares me when it comes to painting.

It's all about the layers for me, which is really what this series was all about. I'll post the black and white render I colored over for all three in this series...

I know other work from b/w to color. But it just freaks me out. I would love to pick your brain sometime if you don't mind.

Sure! Ask away anytime.

It's funny that it freaks you out, because sometimes the idea of working directly in color freaks me out. Separating the two tasks seems to give me more control, but certainly, it's not everyones favorite way of working.
