Description
This is my design of the Red Knights for Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland".The challenge was to create something that in a way resembles the shape of the characters in the original book illustrations but also works in a life action movie.
So I had to move away from the simple flat card and give it more weight and functionality.
I highly recommend the Art of Alice book "Alice in Wonderland: A Visual Companion", it's 256 pages packed with concept art and behind the scenes photos from the movie.

Regardless of the movie's quality, I love how these knights were designed. Keeping them flat and printing the card symbols on the armour, plus the heart shapes all across it, really is fantastic work.Β
