Good! =O Even if I don't think it is a very great lens, you seem to like it, and you succed in making it appear impressive.

Yeah we all start with kit or basic lenses ^^ In my case I bought a 55-250mm f/4-5,6 with my DSLR, a stabilized one, and for my birthday my girlfriend and mother bought me a 200mm f/2.8 L lens *_* So a high-quality one (don't know if there is a special designation for Nikon but for Canon lenses, the "L" mean it's the high/professional level), very sharp with a very fast USM and this big aperture .

I read on your presentation page that you have a 18-55 and a 55-200, didn't you ever think to buy a 50mm f/1.8? It's cheap but really good to have that high-aperture and that bokeh, for portraits! I didn't understand why people love that much bokeh until I bought that lens and I took my first photo with it : I was immediately convinced

Bokeh effect is very beautiful & separate background from the subject & gives beautiful photo
I'm not interested in portrait photography , but I'm really interested in wildlife & landscape photography , I just love nature

Okay. Wildlife so wild animals? Because if you can get close to your subjects, I think this lens could allow you beautiful photos too =O

Oh be careful : my current 200mm is better than my old 250mm =O Despite the gain of 50mm, I can crop a lot in my photos made with the 200mm, and so I can get closer to animals than with the 250mm! And I could put a TC 1.4 or 2 with it ^^ I don't know if you know this site : www.the-digital-picture.com/Re…

I checked this site before , but really it doesn't help me alot ,
Now i've some money & i was thinking to replace the nikon 55-200mm with 55-300mm OR buy cheap teleconverer Vivitar 2x which makes my nikon 55-200mm is 400mm , but still i don't known , review for it is 50:50

A TC 2x means a loss of 2 f-stop, that's hard :S I guess your D3100, like almost all cheap DSLR, can't autofocus with an aperture darker than f/5.6. And the TC is a loss of image quality too, generally people advise to use it only on high-end model at f/2.8 for the TC 2x.

I guess you're right , I guess i'l go with replacing the lens , it's more safe than the TC
Thank you Β

In my case, we see that with a TC, the 200mm seems better than the 250mm at the same aperture ^^ www.the-digital-picture.com/Re…
