Citadel of Qaitbay - Alexandria Egypt ........ Photo By MeInteresting Fact " A 15th-century defensive fortress located on the Mediterranean sea coast, in Alexandria, Egypt. It was established in 1477 AD (882 AH) by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qa'it Bay. The Citadel is situated on the eastern side of the northern tip of Pharos Island at the mouth of the Eastern Harbour

Even shot as far away as this castle is, there’s still something very imposing and intimidating about it. If it weren’t for the Great Pyramids of Giza, I’d have to wonder if this’d be part of the Eight Wonders of the World or something. It’d certainly be a contender having survived for over 500 years… That makes it impressive regardless.
What I have to enjoy with this shot is how the castle is centre focus, and how it’s complemented with the sidewalk to the right and I guess the beach or shoreline to the left, allowing for a nice array of colours to be displayed. By shooting it angled, it adds a unique spin on building shots and allows us a different take on the sheer size and scope of the place… “It’s that large and THAT far away?”
Overall, I’ve got to declare this a fine photograph, as it manifests in my mind a time that I’d like to travel to Egypt to see this place for myself. A good photo will advertise the place better than any words or otherwise, as this photo demonstrates. Well done.

I like the perspective, the juxtaposition of the sidewalk and shoreline
perpendicular to the castle is outstanding. Very colorful, as well. Great job.

I like the contrast in your picture. The clouds and the sky really stand out. The rest of the picture shows a great dynamic in color and light.
It's really astounding that you photgraphed this scene with a smartphone. I guess they are right when they say: The camera doesn't matter so much, it's the person BEHIND the camera that matters.

Also , It's not any smartphone , It's Nokia 808 Pureview , 41 megapixels , I used almost taking my photos by smartphones ,
even when i bought my Nikon d3100 , still taking photos by smartphones
