Now that is a great way to utilize the wide angle. What I love most about this other than how the wide angle creates a sense of humbleness against a great force....is that the contrast of the orange jacket against the grey of all the water, Β it's perfect. It really ties it in. Had he been wearing a black or white jacket or dark blue, Β it wouldn't have created so much interest or completion. Orange really works well with the water because you get a sense of defiance as orange is considered a color tone meant to convey an "absolute stance" in message. But also by the size of the orange and the size of the man, you get a sense vulnerability in the face of the incredible volume of water rushing downward every second he stands there and what that must feel like to stand there physically and emotionally. I can only imagine it would be riveting, awe inspiring, and a little fear inciting. The smallness of the orange jacket also conveys both the significance of him and his presence but also his insignificance for being so much smaller against a great force that is the falling water. That little "pop" really makes the photo of you ask me. Β

Pardon my comment but what wide angle are you talking about? This is a telephoto shot with a flat perspective.
