Hi all, this is something different than usual. A poster to a crazy puppet theather about Fantomas and zombies
. The characers are all based on the puppets.all done in Photoshop
Soon I'll post some new League of Legends stuff and some fantasy illustrations

Love it that you seemed to have based Fantomas on the French film trilogy from the mid-60ies - I love those movies - Jean Marais, Mylene Demongeot and Luis de Funes!!

But man, the art is great, but for saying these are original characters you got some rip off concepts here.
The machine gun leg, clearly planet terror.
And the gun-bra? Machete Kills much?
I get the whole exploitation/grindhouse thing. But the fun in that is being original and creative.
And while gimmicks like those are the bread and butter of grindhouse, they're too distinctive to reuse like something simple as a machete.
Gotta come up with new stuff.
Not saying it's not a cool picture though. Good job otherwise.

I tottaly get what you mean, I myself don't like when I see copies of sombody elses work. This one is a little different,let me explain:
1. I did just the illustration based on the puppet designs. I did not design the characters
2. This is a puppet theather that takes all kinds of characters from movies and other media. Mixes them up and creates something different. For example Fantomas the main villain is based on character from old french movies etc. Even the puppets themself are usually created from different elements of toys and other stuff (here is a picture of characters from different play www.festivaly.sk/App_Script/feβ¦
so yes the character have element you have seen before for sure, but it's intentional. Somebody likes it somebody doesn't
I myself respect originality very much and this was by no means ment as stealing or copying other peoples ideas (or doing "homage", hehe
