Hi, everybody I haven't posted anything for a looong time, well it has been kind of hard time for me. Good thing is everything is getting better now. So here is my new work for trilogy about Bogatyrs (by slovak writer Juraj Cervenak). You can see the previous two covers in my gallery.C&c are most welcome

the contrast between the background and the outline of the character definitely hits you first. the choice of colors is certainly great - it's an immediate ghoulish feel.

that is really quite amazing,. So much energy in this . I must ask, was this painter or photoshop? Do you import textures from photographs at all? Oh and your gallery is probably one of my favorites on DA now!!

thanks a lot. This was just pure Photoshop. I don't use photo brushes at all, I create them from scanned painterly textures I paint traditionally (with acrilics). I'm glad you like my gallery!

quite unusual interpretation... I used to think that Koschei looked like very thin old man with a hump and dry pale skin, a skeleton of some kind...
By the way, in heathen slavic tradition there was a holiday dedicated to Koschei, and it had been 'celerabted' on February, the 29th, once in four years. People had to stay at home, it was forbidden to borrow things that day. In Christianity 29th of February is called The Mean Kasyan's Day, who's actualy the only evil saint person in Russian Church tradition.

Jesus christ this is good. The dark crimson blood really sets off his phosfluroscent (er however its spelt) skin (or whats left of it). His robes look really good, the pallette you chose really matches the picture and gives it alot of atmosphere.

diky... hm, myslis ako dlho mi to trva "namalovat"? fuu neviem presne u tycho veci, pocas toho ako to robim vela veci menim + posielam rozrobene obrazky na okorigovanie autorovi knihy (ci chce nejake zmeny a tak). Robim to vo volnom case (ktoreho mam malo) takze tieto sa tahaju cely mesiac, ale robim na tom iba sem tam ked mam cas. Niekedy buden musiet zratat presny cas
