From the looks of it, I'm gonna guess that the Sihedron is a bad thing.

From what I've read, not exactly. It's a good thing in the sense that reuniting its pieces will resurrect Xin after his betrayal at the hands of his corrupted Runelord servants, who were much more evil than he. It's a bad thing in the sense that being dead in his sunken capital city for several millenia hasn't exactly been good for his mental or spiritual health.
