The hills/mountains in the background look like they're 2d, layered over each other. Makes me think of 'memories piling on top of one another'.
Then the foreground is in mid-motion; head towards the future, small splashes will eventually make a wave.

Le temps ne pas exister pour les amoureux et des amateurs d'art... Mais de vagues souvenirs sont comme un froid dans une couverture très chaude journée d'été. Vous ne se sentent pas si vous ne le souhaitent pas.

It's uncanny how the waves reflect the distant, somewhat paper-cut hills. Real, and not real, all at once. The tiny dot of a boat on the horizon seems too far away to care.
