I usually end up looking at a piece, then check out the Artist's Comment afterwards. Sometimes it's better to see things in your own mind's eye and interpret what you see first; then look back and see what the artist had in mind. (Although I find that it works much better when listening to a song. 
So it tickled me pink that we were thinking the same thing with the "depth of field".

I think there is a beauty in being lost... who knows what we may find
Gorgeous image... the off-set subject conveys in subtlety the notion of straying off-path... taking the first step, daring to plunge into the unknown in search for the new and beautiful
