7. Because I was trying to reproduce the scene correctly I drew both of them without their shirts (they both loose them during their fight) and when my brother saw
this ,although he recognized the scene and knew when it happens he still said it looked ....kinda....well like two naked men ...and yeah ....you know ....

I've always understood Son to be Toriyama's absolute favorite. Pic's better, of course. But so it is.

That's odd.... so how come Pic gets so screwed over later in the series?? I thought that Son ends up doing everythig because Son was his favorite, which I could understand as much as it annoyed the hell out of me. But why the hell have Veg come in and replace the role of a much cooler badass when you like the original guy better?

Just to let you know Vegeta was supposed to die at the end of the Freeza saga, but he proved so popular with fans that Toriyama kept him in the story. And Toriyama kept trying to kill Goku off permanently and have Gohan be the main character of the series, but again popularity brought him back from the dead. Literally. So not only did Piccolo get shafted, Gohan too. And I think the ridiculous power ups were to show Saiyan superiority. If Piccolo was still able to keep up by the end, I think the whole Saiyan thing would've seemed less impressive to other fans. Although I think he still had a lot potential left in him. His natural lifespan is around 400 years. Imagine if Piccolo had actually reached his middle age by 150 - 200 years? I think that would have been his fighting peak. Not to mention all those latent Demonic and Kami powers that he represses. Imagine if he used his full abilities as a Namek instead of just focusing on physical power and trying compete on a Saiyan's level. I have a feeling he doesn't because he doesn't see the usefulness of it or that because he doesn't like those sides of his personalities... Ok, rambling. Happy 4th!

I guess there's no helping it since Vegeta was popular. I don't know how it went there in Japan but I'm guessing like in the U.S. Vegeta had more fans, but I don't know. I thought that Piccolo did better with the Japanese fandom but I don't know. I guess Toriyama just gave the fans what they wanted. Or he just thought the story up like that.
You know, I've been wondering about something ever since I found out that Toriyama had wanted to end the story after Frieza Saga but his editors and co. convinced him TWICE (for the Cell Saga and Buu Saga) to keep the story going. If he had ended the DB after the defeat of Frieza , Piccolo would've probably stayed the second strongest after Goku or at least top three if Vegeta came back to life,but still back then the power difference between Vegeta and Piccolo was small. My point is that the last two Sagas, especially the Buu Saga were practically forced upon him. So he wanted to end them as quickly as possible. That's why he gave power-ups only to Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks and Goten so they could each have they're turn, please the fans and then be done with it .
I always had the feeling that the artwork in Buu Saga is the worst of all. I just feel it was rushed.
