To the story i see on why he was crying...Maybe a sad memory of the past. Something made him rember painfully, and lead to him crying. Could been a insult or a remark ro even a event that brought the pain back.
He ashame to show Pinkie his pain and tries to hid it, but Pinky doesn't give up and shows him a smaile even thou she wants to cry for him.
