Description     I wanna start doing more drawings in color but I'm still not confident, so I decided to practice with my favorite dinosaur! And I think it turned out damn good! I based the color scheme off of an older painting I did for school so I wouldn't have to think of another. That's the biggest problem I have with coloring my drawings because it's hard to think of colors for a prehistoric animal. But I do wanna do some more color drawings in the future. For now I'll just do profile drawings like this without backgrounds or too much action, and if it turns out good like this I'll let you all see it! Here's to the future!

Just to let you know, fur, proto-feathers, bristles, and plumulaceous feathers physically cannot be green, blue, or purple. I can't find a link explaining why, but I have confirmed this with my paleontology professor. You can see this for yourself: Try to think of any mammals with green, blue, or purple fur; you can't.

Gee really? I've always wondered why there's no green/blue/purple mammals. But would early dinosaur feathers be the same way?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I first learned of this from the dinosaur WikiProject paleoart guidelines:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedi…

They link to this paper (which I can't read due to the pay-wall):
