While I apprecaite that you've taken the time to view this image and comment, I do feel that your comments is inappropriate and disrespectful of Mosh and of the intent of this image.

With all due respect, without being pretentious, I don't know how far you can deny the nature of your work. A beautiful nude woman, sultry patriotism, navel uniform of which I would feel safe in saying either doesn't belong to her or if it does is highly against regulations. Thus, the pin-up quality to which you seam to be nodding at is only justifiably well responded to in the exact same fashion that any good soldier would have in the golden age of pin-up models, *whistle *whistle. I apologize for being forward, but I certainly don't retract my statement, the fact stands that you presented Mosh in a fashion quite becoming of a reciprocal compliment, and I emphasize compliment given the context of your photo (which is quite nice technically speaking, as is she).

I treated this image for exactly what it is; (and I don't intend to raise the old "art vs smut" thing here) I am not going to look at this and see it in any light besides pure cheesecake. This is no Benglis', Chicago, or Sherman; it does not approach us with that conceptual appeal (i.e. the anti-misogynistic feminist sensibility), nor do I see it as an exploration of the intrinsic form of the female nude as in a Weston, or a Myers. This is well executed soft eroticism, plain and simple. Nicely done work and with a degree of "taste" like a novelty birthday card, but hardly anything to get all hot and bothered about in relationship to my comment.

Relax, I'm sure she's a wonderful girl, although thats totally besides the point. Would I have said the same thing if she were walking about casually on the street, no. However, while dipping a hip, saluting everyone but the admiral, and wearing nothing but a pair of barbells, the picture (NOT her) incites a reaction quite to the contrary of any formal unprovocative response.

I don't deny the nature of my work. It is what it is. If you choose to sexualized the image and react accrodingly then that's your choice and reveals much more about you than it says about me.

I can't control how you react to the image (nor would I want to). I will say that I do no accept your characterization of my work. The image was not created for "boner" material and that you've said that shows a level of disrespect to the model and to my work.

You are entitled to your opinion but I will say that I do not agree with your analysis.

PS: There probably is a reason why I've not answered your question.

Really, this is quite silly. If we were talking about a picture of fruit or something else more ambiguous, I'd have to agree that "sexualizing" your photograph would "reveal more about me" in an anomalous sort of way, however, it is not and does not. Furthermore, to take the enigmatic position of implying that somehow this is a photograph and therefor "it is what it is," yet to also qualify my reaction to exactly "what it is" as both contradictorily right and wrong simultaneously, is a little contrived.

If I had said I found it "sexy," "stunning," or even "pleasing to the eye," instead of using "boner" (there all one in the same), would you have been less insulted? I guess I could have candy-coated my statement with a euphemism, but I didn't, and even if I had that still wouldn't have changed the implication.

Your the only one who knows what your true intentions were with this photograph, but without expressing it, I really cannot see how else this image is geared to be analyzed. Its all about context and iconography; I stand by my interpretation that you intentionally devised a scenario that reads like a modern day pin-up, and like it or not, I gave a reaction that the pin-up is designed to get.

Thats all I am going to say...

Like I said, you can stand by your opinion and characterization of the image, I really could give a shit. The image is there for comment and opinion. I do not expect people to give me 100% approval. I expect that those leaving comments are willing to take this I do take issue with your word choice; it is inflammatory and disrespectful of Mosh and I will not stand by the sexual characterization that you give this image.

Of course this is a playful homage to pin-up art. What is not appreciated is your word choice for your comments on this image which I find rude and disrespectful. Sometimes things are better left unsaid and your comments indicate that you have no mental filter for this. Word do have meaning. "Sexy," "stunning," or even "pleasing to the eye," do not equate to "boner" - which specifically connotes sexual arousal whereas the former word usually don't. You can try to conflate the meaning but anyone with a brain knows what you meant. Try to read sex into this all you want but that was not the intention as others who have commented on this seem to get.
