Here's a tribute illustration I drew after one of my heroes, Dwayne McDuffie, passed away last year. This one was suggested by The Line It Is Drawn Suggestion KingYou can find the original Comics Should Be Good post HERE .

Same here, really. To be honest, when I first saw those shows, I had no idea McDuffie was involved, never heard of the man before.
I was so happy when he was going to get to write the Justice League comic for a while. Would've turned out better if DC Comics editorial didn't make him so miserable during that time.

So much agreed. It's most unfortunate he was so creatively restrained during his run, the thought is maddening. It could have been one of the best runs ever with a literal genius at the helm.

Indeed. It was tragic. McDuffie's run could have gone up there with the likes of Morrison and Conway for brilliant JLA runs. But editorial had to muck that up.
I would love to give some of that Milestone Media stuff he did. DC should re-release that in trade.

Is he one of the "Man of Action"? I miss Static Shock. I may be a white guy that despises "political correctness", but having a black superhero as the main character is a nice change of pace.

I don't believe Dwayne was a part of Man of Action, Justin. I miss Static Shock also. I'm not all sure about "political correctness," but having main characters who are nonwhite and/or non-male at least half the time is correct and more in tune with reality. "White guy" shouldn't have to be the default all the time, especially for programming targeted towards children who are diversifying with each passing generation. Dwayne championed inclusion and that's what inspires me every time I think about him and his work.
