Description
(Part 2)
Boss:
Micro: Once again, FromSoft knows how to make great bosses, and Bloodborne has easily some of the best bosses in the whole series, if not then arguably the best roaster of bosses in this game.
Shekra: Plenty of bosses, so many to try the trick weapons on, and plenty are unique to fight, I can't help but love it. Human enemies, beast enemies, whatever the Binding of Issac looking abomination that is the One Reborn is, there is plenty to love that I have a hard time picking all my favorites. So many bosses are fast pace, high octane fights that most will leave the adrenaline pumping for me, from me dodging their very quick attacks, side stepping out of the way from a hunter's shot blast, to me countering back on massive enemies so hard on their limbs, they will sometimes fall to the ground and you can go to town on them. To somewhat steal something said by Max0r said in his video, Bloodborne is great in making you feel like a ant jamming a toothpick in a building size monster and that's almost no exaggeration as you'll be fighting plenty of bosses of different shapes, size and ways of fighting. Bosses like the Shadow of Yharnam where its a three on one against the NazgΓ»ls running at you with each one having different ways of combat before they change with each one you kill, Vicar Amelia being a towering priestess turn into some deer werewolf monster that is still managing to keep some shreds of her humanity as she'll go from swiping her attacks like a feral animal to trying to prey so she can heal herself, or Rom the spider, who's just so adorable that I want to hug the living stuffing out it.
Micro: And is literally the one boss that has a restraining order on Shekra, believe or not.
Shekra: If Scale can't stop me from dragging her to school, what hope you think Rom has?
Micro: Rest my case.
Shekra: And that's just touching the surface as there is still other bosses I want to talk about but don't want to give away, I don't know what to mentioned and what not to mentioned yet. So many bosses I like, but not as much as my favorite bosses that are in the DLC that I still have to wait to mentioned them. I know I mentioned some bosses being towering, and one of the more intimidating bosses is probably Amygdala as it is building size yet can attack very quickly, cover a lot of ground, and almost no area is safe with this thing, but its second phase where it rips its arms off and use them like drums to beat you has to be one of the coolest thing in the game.
Micro: Which is funny, as with how simple noodle limb Cthulu here is, I have to wonder what the hell HP Lovecraft was so worry about against it. The game defiantly has a lot of bosses that are great, and that's just with the base game. The Chalice dungeon also has some great bosses, but the less I drive a Kirkhammer down that's horse throat, the better as I don't want to get into the f$%king Watchdog, hate that bastard with ironic burning passion. That said, there are some stinkers in the roaster, thankfully nothing offensively bad but still one of those type of bosses that are either annoying or you wondering what's the point of them being here. And there really is only like two bosses to mentioned, one of them being the Witches of Hemwik, a rather joke of a boss that can range from minor difficult to being a joke and that depends entirely if you have insight or not, we're not even sure if game journalist can beat this boss. But then you get to this motherf$%ker, Micolash, the bane of every speedrunner and is a b$%ch to chase as he really isn't a boss, but instead a Benny Hill annoyance as you have to chase the f$%ker twice to which the first phase he does ONE attack before the second phase he will happily cast the the ultimate one hit spell, A Call to F%K You, cause that is what you'll be screaming when you die from this attack and have to restart the last ten minutes. God forbid you if you were one hit away and he manages to pull that stupid attack on you just in time. Thankfully there is a cheese method to kill him without the risk of him doing his second phase, but you'll have to look up where the cheese spot is cause I'm not telling you so you might suffer because you now don't to look up the cheese strat because of your pride or something dumb.
Shekra: While Micolash and the witches may be on the low end of enjoyment compare to everyone else, that still doesn't take away from every other bosses, especially the boss theme that plays when you fight the bosses. I know we haven't said much about the soundtrack in this game, and that's mostly because there is only so much you can say about the same thing, but the soundtrack in this game takes it up a new level with the orchestra soundtracks that is playing, even to the point some bosses have godly boss theme such as one of the DLC bosses, Ludwig.
Micro: Once again to steal a line from Max0r, I don't know what it is about Japan making better symphony than the continent that invented it, but holy crap give the soundtrack listen.
Shekra: The boss designs, arena, and fights together makes the bosses in this game memorable enough, but the soundtrack just solidifies plenty of bosses on their status of boss rank in the Soulsborne series. I even love this little detail when you beat a boss that the screen says "Prey Slaughter," making it sound like you're the boss instead in this fight.
Micro: Shekra, wants to hold off on her favorite bosses, but for me, I have plenty of bosses that are my favorite in this series that I remember this one question someone asked I think a month ago if I could give a list of favorite bosses in each game in the Soulsborne series, and Bloodborne was defiantly the hardest one as there were plenty. I know one of the bosses I mentioned was Father Gascoigne, however, he is tied with another boss I also like in this game, that being the second to last boss of the game that I'll hold off till we get to the end. Father Gascoigne is one of the first bosses you will fight in the game, but I can't help but love fighting this guy, the fact he's a hunter that is going blood mad, the way he fights, and that second phase of his where he transform and becomes a wild beast that makes the whole situation panic inducing. Father Gascoigne is the biggest roadblock for new players as he will be the very thing that will drill into your head of better play this game by its own beat or you're never going to make it far in this game. And the lore of Father Gascoigne, the tragedy of his family, and his theme song just tops it up a notch, and the lines he says in the fight, while only one sentence, just makes him so memorable and one of the best bosses in this game for me. Just try to tell me his line of "sweet blood" doesn't make you feel a little anxious of this fight.
Shekra: Again, so many things to talk about this game with just the bosses alone, that I would go into a class lesson of every boss and maybe the lore and connection the bosses might have, but I think you guys got the picture. The bosses in this game is so worth fighting on your own. And I do mean on your own cause the multiplayer in this game is practically dead, seriously, during our play time with this game with the online feature, we maybe saw maybe seven people's shadow, so have fun suffering in the game. We could go on, but if you heard of Bloodborne enough, then you already know how much fans praise the bosses of this game, so going in deep with every single one will just be too much.
Micro: Not that is going stop you from finally talking about the lore as now its high time we talk about what in the hell is going on with Yharnam.
Shekra: History lesson time!~
Ending:
Shekra: Before we continue of where we left on, we need to talk about how the all healing blood was found, and that all begin years ago where scholars of Byrgenwerth discover a ancient labyrinth, this being the Chalice Dungeon no doubt, where a ancient civilization call the Pthumerians was discover, but more importantly, the scholars found what would then be call the Old Blood and its healing property. Thanks to the Old Blood, this help advance medicine and Yharnam has been known for its healing properties because of the blood. Two important people of note became the driving force of what would later seal Yharnam to its fate, that being the master of Byrgenwerth Willem and a assistant of his, Laurence. Both study the blood before something would soon drive the two to seek different paths, with Laurence forming what would soon be call the Healing Church while Master Willem staying in Byrgenwerth, studying something else before we find him in the state he ends up being before fighting Rom, with the only thing left Willem warns Laurence is to fear the Old Blood. While the blood has defiantly help the Yharnam enter a renaissance, this blood would soon become Yharnam's doom as time continues and the moon shines deeper into the city. What once would be a miracle liquid to the people would soon become a curse as those that even took a small sample of the blood administer to them would find themselves transforming into feral monsters, soon becoming beast. The reason for this is where the Old Blood most likely came from, not from the Pthumerian, but who they once serve and still tries to serve, the Old Great Ones.
Micro: If you ever read HP Lovecraft's works before, and I probably highly recommend trying to as they can be interesting, then you already have an idea of what's the deal of the Great Ones, eldritch abomination who's mere existence or goals are beyond humanity's horny bonking capability, and these things are next to no different as there isn't exactly much to comprehend of what these guys want, like why woman Cthulu is sulking around the bathroom basement in the great Cathedral. What is know is that there is some common desire the Great Ones want, and its something that is either impossible or next to, and that is have a child. Because of how much the Great ones ascended, they can bare a child themselves, so in order to even be a surrogate parent, they make other woman birth their child, with extreme mix results to say the least, with only one group trying to see about doing this. What about Willem or Laurence? Well, both actually wants to help ascend humanity, but the thing was how is what drove the two apart, as Willem believes the only safe way for humanity to ascend is through the process of having more eyes in the mind, more insight, while Laurence on the other hand believe that humanity can ascend through the use of the Old Blood, something Willy warns Laurence not to do, and well, I think we know who was slightly right for like five minutes before the other proven to be just as bad.
Shekra: As for the beast scourge problem, the Healing church would in turn try to keep the whole thing as much of a secret as possible, not wanting people to know about the blood or them losing their power in the city given how helpful the blood has been to them, though that's not to say part of the Church as well as Byrgenwerth would branch out and soon perform horrific experiments and other atrocities, one of which would cost the Hunters very dearly. The church soon form the Hunters, and the night of the hunt, with leaders such as Laurence and a man name Ludwig fighting the beast, but the hunt would only help to increase some problems as hunting beast while hunters still has to rely on the blood to heal them only help to drive hunters blood crazed, soon even another type of hunters having to be made to hunt hunters, such as a certain Crow. It wouldn't be long before parts of the city is burn to the ground and isolated, beast come out of the shadows and attack everything, the Yharnamites going insane as the night continues, horrible monster birthed from monstrous experiments would be released and to make it worse, the remain Great Ones has their unholy eyes out in the city to make due of whatever goal they might have. Its to the point one scholar, Rom, became a great one herself just so a thin barrier could protect what's even left of the city's sanity, until we pop that bubble to say the least, soooooo.
Micro: Now you maybe wondering, where does Gehrman and the Doll play in all of this given we said at the beginning that these two are very important character. Well, where to even begin with this tragedy?
Shekra: A lot of the Hunter's way of combat can be traced all the way to Gehrman as it turns out he was the very first Hunter, though not officially named as one by the church. Gehrman was so effective that even his weapon would serve as the basic for all trick weapons. With that said, as Gehrman did his job effectively and most likely taken many apprentices, there was one person that seem to have left a massive impression on Gehrman, that being a woman name Lady Maria, the very huntress that would serve to be the very model that the doll would have her design based on. Whatever Lady Maria's relationship to Gehrman must've been decently good given that the reason why Gehrman is serving as the host for the Hunter's Dream can be chalked to Lady Maria. Something cause her death, and this probably have a massive effect on Gehrman given he tried to model the doll after Maria, that is until one powerful being came up to Gehrman. To go ahead and spoil the finale boss, this powerful being is none other than a Great One, that being named the Moon Presence. What the Moon Presence wants is up for debate, go figure, but what is so far clear is that it wants Gehrman to be a mentor or sort of the Hunter's Dream and make hunters go hunt other great ones and kill them, which in term would end the beast scourge but how long is up for debate, and in the process, the Great One will make the Doll come to life. While this might not be a bad thing as you are at least dealing with the issue, this would be two way contract as the Great One gets what it wants I guess while Yharnam get what it wants, with the one getting horrifically screwed over is Gehrman as now he's practically forever trapped in the Hunter's Dream, all while this was because he wanted Lady Maria to stay continue on somehow.
Micro: As for why Lady Waifu is dead, we have to find that truth out ourselves and that means its finally time to talk about the DLC, which is very easy to get into, simply grab the DLC key from the messengers in the Hunter's Dream after killing Vicar Amelia and then just go outside of a specific spot of Oeden Chapel and nasty grabby by the Amygdala clinging to the building and you will find yourself in the Hunter's Nightmare, basically Hell. Try to imagine what a nightmare would look like in this game in the Nightmare Frontier is just the basic walk in the park, the place would look like Portland, California and New York had a gang bang but ironically is still more pleasant to live in, with the exception being that now there is more blood, death and crackheads to run away in fear. This hellscape is the hell spawn sight for all hunters as they would eventually go blood drunk and become monsters themselves, with now said hunters running around this place and killing everything with no end in sight. And to get further into the nightmare, we have to first get a pendant from none other Laurence himself. Yeah, remember when Shekra mentioned that hunters would eventually go blood crazed to the point that other hunters had to go out and kill them, well, the same thing happened to Laurence, and he suffer probably the worst type of fate of anyone here, being a s$%tty fiery reskin version of one of the first two bosses you can fight. Please for the love of God, don't fight Laurence if you have a choice, you'll only lose a part of yourself, just grab the pendant from his body and don't come back if you manage to find his skull at the elevator of the research hall later in the dungeon where you have to get off before it rise to find a secret elevator underneath that has the skull.
Shekra: Why do you hate people so much.....
Micro: But before you can go to the research hall, you have to fight one of, if not, the biggest wall of the DLC, and that being Ludwig, suffering one of the worst curse I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, becoming the average brony cosplayer, and boy is he pissed about it, goddamn.
Shekra: Ludwig is one of the hardest bosses in the whole game, and is also one of my favorite bosses in the whole game, almost number one, but that honor goes two bosses down of who we have to fight. Ludwig is a monster of both beast and man as his first phase he fights like a aggressive animal, charging attacks that hits like semi, swinging attacks that is difficult to avoid taking a hit, and this one move where he can jump in the air and slam right on top of you if you don't move. And that is all before we get to probably the most iconic scene in the whole game where Ludwig enters his second phase and reveals the Holy Moonlight Sword that manages to restore some humanity back to Ludwig and he fights like the swordsman he once was, this fight is awesome. You can even get the sword after putting Ludwig down for good. And that leaves the rest of the DLC where you venture into the the research hall, pretty much displaying some of the horrible experiments the church was performing behind the scene as we see patience acting like nutcase with plenty having massive heads, but we still have to get through this area before fighting the next speedbump, the living representation of your highschool years, before we finally get to my favorite boss of the whole game, Lady Maria. Lady Maria fight once like a regular hunter at first, but she is a very devastating hunter, easily one of the hardest one you'll be fighting as she has three phases, she really does not want you get passed her and see something she's so desperate to hide, so desperate that she is willing to use blood arts that she herself didn't want to resort to and this fight becomes extremely intense. Her attacks are now wider and longer, all her attacks are terrifying and hits so hard that you'll be panicking that God help you when phase three kicks in and her attacks are fuse with not only blood attack but fire as well, and yet, I love this intense fight between two hunter, as now it feels like two extremely skilled hunters doing a dance with each other and the goal is to out perform the other enough that they'll tripped.
Micro: Well, I must have lead feet cause I sure as hell die to Lady Frieza of the order of the black flame 9000 ti(tm), I kept panicking of where her attacks would go only to get skewer constantly. Didn't help I tried to be a scrub and visceral attack her a lot and kept failing the parry timing. With that said, after you beat Lady Waifu, but not before talking to Doll Waifu for some interesting discussion after beating the Waifu that better not tell Gehrman that she's no longer Laifu, we can now see what is this dark secret Lady Maria is so ashamed of that she's not only willing to kill other people from seeing it, but threw her original weapon away and killed herself later, and that secret is one big ass area ripped straight from HP Lovecraft'sΒ "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" story. So here's the deal of the Fishing Hemlet that I'll just give a major abridged version, years ago, Willy got news of something weird going on in some small fishing village which turns out to be a Great one, know as Kos, the Elder Great Milf One. Whatever her relationship to the place was, the locals seemed to worship Kosmo a lot, so much so that they wanted to be the cast of Bikini bottom of season 1 to 4, unfortunately they got the raw end of being the cast of Bikini Bottom of Seasons 5 to now. With that said, when the scholars and hunters found out about Kosm, they did not waste time in making things a living hell for the locals, killing and performing horrific things on to them, and even managing to bonk Kos to death. We had to go through hell and Satan's bathroom to find a great one and kill it, these f$%ker just manage to find one and kill it the damn thing, f$%k my luck I guess. Well, jokes on everyone cause since Kos is a Great One, they only kill the physical part of her and not her soul, don't ask cause I'm not 100% what we need to kill is exactly that, as such, Kos, understandably very pissed off, put a massive curse where every hunter and any unfortunate bastard caught in the cross fire will one day end up in the Old Hunter's Nightmare and is force to kill in a blood crazed rage for all eternity, unless we have something to say about that as we have the chance of putting a end to the nightmare once and for all. This whole thing is why Lady Maria was so desperate to hide this horrific catastrophe as she was so ashamed of what happened here that she more or less thinks that everyone involved deserves the curse. Though, she probably might sing a different tune if she found out Gehrman got dragged into this nightmare as well, as it seems Gehrman showed up near the end to see some of the things that transpire if the old trailers for the DLC was something to go by. Unfortunately for Lady vampire, we manage to beat her and there's nothing stopping us from putting a end to the nightmare. Unfortunately for us, there is still something stopping us from putting a end to the nightmare, and the is the last boss of the DLC, the Orphan of Kos, and God help me with this bastard of a beast. You thought the Demon of Harambe was a b$%ch to kill in Sekiro, you at least had a cheese method to kill him, SCP 96 here on the other hand has next to no cheese method.
Shekra: Orphan is not only one of the hardest boss of the whole series, he's easily the hardest boss in the whole game, and you will feel every single pain Orphan unleashes on to you as he beats the bloody pulp out of you with his sharpen placenta. He's extremely aggressive, acts more like a wild animal than most beast animals in this game, is almost unpredictable to anticipate his attacks, can cover so much of the arena either from his attacks or just running at you, and that's before he gets to the second phase where he is even more chaotic, more terrifying, and calls on the power of Zeus to rain lightning to the arena, and yet, I can't help but love this adrenaline pumping fight. Orphan is terrifying to fight and is one of the hardest hitting bosses, but once you understand how his attacks works, even more that you can parry him on some of his attacks, this fight is one of the best fights in the whole game.
Micro: And probably one of the things I'm going to hell for as we just beaten a newborn baby that crawled out of the body of his dead mother and instantly became a orphan. Welp, already gone that far, so why stop now in kill the shadow and finally end this hellish nightmare and finally wrap up this game, cause we still need to take care of the primarily task we were given before coming to the DLC. Thankfully there's isn't much as to say from what we already mentioned or we left off in the beginning, we go through the Unseen village, kill a Great One reject before going to HP Lovania after entering the realm know as the Nightmare of Mensis, as well as killing Micolash, eat s$%t you dick. After playing Benny Hills for ten minutes, we venture past Mergo's Pig Fisting Route and make every swingular bastard run in fear and put on titanium underwears before we finally reach the top of this godforsaken place and find our target, Mergo, or to be more precise, Mergo's Wet Nurse, the guardian of Mergo. Little tidbit of Mergo you may have not notice, after you kill Rom, you'll sometimes hear a baby's cry as you continue through the rest of the game. The baby's cry turns out to be from Mergo, a newborn infant, who we're supposed to go after. Yup, not only we beat up a orphan, but we're committing infanticide, guess we're closer to California than I thought. One other interesting thing of note that you'll notice that before you fight the biblical accurate angel of death, you find a familiar queen just outside the boss arena, someone you should recognize as she was also at the spot after you kill Rom. Queen Casper her is actually Queen Yharnam, and if I remember correctly, is supposed to be the actual mother of Mergo before the Great Ones took it and transform it into whatever the hell new born Great Ones look like. You can actually fight Yharnam herself, but that require finding her at a specific Chalice dungeon, and I don't recommend doing that unless you feel like losing your sanity, trust me on that.
Shekra: As for the wet nurse, she's a terrifying fight as she can have plenty of tricks, such as in her second phase covering the arena in darkness and making duplicate of herself, or appearing right behind you, but if you fought Orphan before this fight, then believe it or not, the rest of the bus should be smooth sailing in comparison, and the wet nurse is no exception. That said, we finally got our target and is taken back to the Hunter's Dream..... which is currently on fire suddenly.... huh.
Micro: Guess the Doll was making cookies and forgot to turn the stove off before we came back. Well, while our home is being burnt to the ground, the Doll tells us that Gehrman wants us in the meadows behind the workshop. Gerhman congratulates us for helping to put an end to the hunt, and gives us a choice to let him kill us. No, I'm not joking, Gehrman wants to kill us, and if this was any other situation, this would make Gehrman into a bad guy, however, he's honestly trying to do us a favor. Remember, Gehrman is trapped in this realm all because of the Moon Presence, force to serve under that Great One more or less against his will with almost no hope of getting out on his own. For Gehrman, this has been hell ever since he's been trapped in this realm, and you can feel it if you manage to find Gehrman in a certain spots and hear him talk in his sleep. The rare dialogue you might hear from the poor guy is rather soul crushing as you can tell Gehrman wants to get out of this realm, but not at the cost of someone else taking his place. If you accept Gehrman's offer, he will mercifully kill you quickly and you will wake up outside of Yharnam, with no recognition of what in the world just happened throughout the whole night, making you wonder if everything you suffer through truly was a dream or not. However, if you deny Gehrman's offer, prepare for the other boss fight that is my favorite in the game as Gehrman joins the hunt. Gehrman wants you dead at this point, he knows what will happen if you stay and he doesn't want you to suffer his fate, so he will not hold back in the fight as he proceed to beat your ass into the cemetery. Gehrman might not be as difficult as his star pupil, but you can easily see where Lady Maria got all her moves from as Gehrman is one springy handicap bastard. He can cover a lot of distance, will not hesitate to shoot your ass, and is deadly with that scythe of his, and that's before we get to phase two where he is enhanced by the moon and has near hyper armor and will ignore a good chunk of your attack unless you hit him really really hard, all while he'll constantly be hitting you really really hard. Still, after everything you've been through, as well as everything you know, its high time to put Gehrman finally out of his misery and release him from his prison. Unfortunately, like I said, beating Gehrman might be satisfying, it still has a price as now the Moon Presence wants a new host, or in this case, puppet to serve it, and since you kill Gehrman, you get to be the next host bond to this realm for eternity.
Shekra: If you didn't do one major thing that is, in which case, you stuck with the second ending. However, there is a third secret ending, and I do mean secret as you have to look this ending up to figure out on what to do to not get lock out of the ending. Something we didn't mentioned was one particular item that Willem, Gehrman, and even Micolash manage to have with them that helped them communicate with the Great ones or at least study them, and that is something call the Third Umbilical Cord..... ughugh... eww...
Micro: To save you some explaining, these things for some God knows why reason helps whoever holds them to at least talk to whatever Great One is listening, and for you to get the third and consider true ending, you need to find not one but three out of four of these things, and finding them annoying if you know what to do and you might be locked out of the third ending rather very easily if its your first time playing the game not looking things up. Here's where you find the Umbilical Cords, one is given to you from beating the Wet Nurse, the second is found in the secret workshop found in Upper Cathedral Ward, have fun with that one, and as for the third and fourth one, they're easy to get but even easier to screw up on getting as these two can be collected from both Arianna and the Imposter in the clinic, but to get them, you need Arianna to be at Oedon Chapel, I think at least collect only one blood vial from her and either do not collect any more from her if Adella is there or just don't have Adella in the chapel period, and after killing Micolash, find Arianna giving birth to a baby Great One that not even a mother can love and kill it to get the Cord. As for Amongus, you need to wait until after killing Rom to kill her to get the cord, what I'm not sure is if need to kill her prior to any boss after Rom or you're ok to kill her anytime afterward, so if I were you, I wouldn't take my chance on the first chance. Again, you only need three of these things, and the game only gives you like one hint in the whole game about it, so you don't need to worry about getting all four, just three, to which afterward you just need to, and I'm not kidding, eat the three cords before beating Gehrman.
Shekra: Ewwww, gross.
Micro: I like to point this out now while we're at it is that this is one of Shekra's favorite game in existence, a game people would call a horror game to a degree and yet this is the same bat that is a major baby when it comes to horror games.
Shekra: This was supposed to be a horror game? I thought this was a regular Friday night at the pup in the Souls community.
Micro: Well, given what the finale boss has in store, I can't fault you for thinking that cause Christ, for a powerful Great One, the Moon Presence is a pushover.
Shekra: The final boss is intimidating, especially after you just beat Gehrman and now you have to fight this Cthulu looking reject, but compare to everything else, it fights like a regular beast, with only some moves that are worth being scared off such as this one move it has where it can make you instantly lose all your health down to one, but this still works in your favor in that the move leave the boss very open for a lot of attack that thanks to the rally mechanic, you shouldn't have to worry about the sudden health lose immediately.
Micro: Again, after everything you dealt with, the final boss shouldn't be a problem to deal with before it finally dies. And what is your reward for killing what might be the source of all of this madness, you become newborn Inkling... huh.
Shekra: Huh, who knew Splatoon was a spiritual sequel to Bloodborne.
Micro: Well, um, on the bright side, at least the Doll is more than happy to take care of us for the time being.... this is easily the weirdest f$%king ending in this goddamn series.
Conclussion:
Micro: I think we can all can guess that we have a very enjoyable time replaying this game again.
Shekra: Its a platinum rank, no debating, this game is getting a platinum rank, I highly recommend playing this game for yourself, you will most likely love it. And the DLC, please play it as well, it one of the best part of the game.
Micro: Told you guys what rank its getting no matter what, and I wouldn't change the rank as I believe the game deserve the praise it has gotten and continues to get over the years. There's a reason so many people love this game, still make fan art of this game, make the demake of this game, even made reference to this game somehow with this game somehow getting some fan merch and no Shekra we will not be spending $400 dollars to get at least on of the outfits we saw on Twitter, even though you do look cute in the Doll costume.
Shekra: Hmph... fine.... I would still like to hunt the Bloodborne figurines we saw of both the Hunter and Eileen.
Micro: Later, but most likely not anytime soon. Moving back to the review, I think its clear we love the game and recommend it a lot that you try it out somehow. Yes, its annoying its still locked to the PS4 with no port other than what we get for the PS5 which is still the PS4 version, but I'm sure this game will get a remaster or PC Port version just as much as Half Life 3 being made or Mother 3 get a official US release.
Shekra: Don't make me punch you.
Micro: Besides the two major complains I have with the game that I mentioned in the game play segment, the load time and the fast travel system, there really isn't anything negative I can say about the game. Yes it will it kick your ass, a lot as a matter of fact, but its still one of the most satisfying games to play and once you master the combat, you'll most likely thrill in the night of the hunt that happens in Yharnam.
Shekra: I'm just hoping we didn't leave off something extremely major to warn or give note in the review as there were some things we had to cut in talking about just to not go overboard in the review, such as all the things we didn't said in the lore, such as Father Gascoigne's whole history, everything that involves the Great Ones, there is just so much to talk about that we didn't want to give away every important detail in the game. If you want a in depth lore explanation of Bloodborne, there are plenty of video to look up on Youtube that just throw a dart and you're bound to find a very good one no matter what. If you're not going to play this game, then I at least highly recommend listening to lore video of this game, you will not be disappointed, especially if say you're a HP Lovecraft fan.
Now, something you probably are wondering given that we like to end things on a high note if possible for marathons if we can help it. Why did we did Bloodborne second to last of this Soulsborne marathon if this game is not only one of our favorite games we ever played, but is also consider a masterpiece by a good chunk of people, with the level design, combat and bosses? Well, that's because I wanted to save one of MY favorite Souls game for last for this marathon. That's right, Dark Souls 3 is one of my favorite Soulsborne games in the whole series, with Bloodborne extremely tied to Dark Souls 3 that if people were to ask me what my favorite Soulsborne game is, I would tell them that its a direct tie between Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne. Both I think has great combat, I love the level design for both games, and I love the bosses in both games. However, why we saved Dark Souls 3 for last is actually because of one thing, and literally one boss in particular. If you follow me long enough to see some conversation I have with people about my favorite boss, you know exactly which boss I'm talking about for who is my exact reason why I wanted to save Dark Souls 3 last.
Shekra: And its going to be a interesting review given we're debating on one thing of how to break the story down. With that said, thank you all for reading mostly me gush about this game for this whole review, and again please give the game a shot or at least give the lore of the game a listen to, you will find something you might like with this game, I can promise you that. As for Dark Souls 3, depending how things go for us as we're actually playing this game now, the finale review for this marathon might come out in maybe next week, or two to three if we royally screw something up then we meant to.
Micro: God, I hope to Christ the Playstation Cloud thing works as much as people claim it does otherwise I'm going to be very annoyed.... and probably tempted to platinum run the game out of annoyance if force to do a second playthrough.
Shekra: Until then, we hope you guys have a good day, and happy hunting, good hunter.
Micro & Shekra: Bye.
