randomly felt like making a videogame protag/fake videogame for them

- their name is aki (gender can be decided by player but they still look the same regardless/are by default genderless so any pronouns are free game lol)

- can also be called "quest kid" which is probably the name of the game too

- theyre ~13 y/o at the start of the game

- the game theyre from is like a mix of a ton of different games like skyrim, zelda, okage, chulip, etc etc the list goes on its a fucking mess on purpose but has an overlying fantasy theme for the mostpart

- but also has stupid modern shit sprinkled in (theres like modern style items, stores, and other facilities in some areas, including the first village. they just sometimes have shit like "ye olde" tacked on to the name)

- the primary objective is to help folks out and semi-accidentally end up going on adventures and meeting new people

- every in game day u (the main character) will get a main request from your granny (that you live with) to go deliver/buy/pick up something for her/etc just any sort of chore thing she might send you out to do

- she typically underestimates the funds you will need to go buy her stuff/has no idea how to get the postal service working again bc for some reason your house just is not on the route for that so you always have to go way through the woods to the village you technically live in

- if granny tells you to go buy her a new tv she'll give you like 20 gold and expect that to be enough bc shes permanently stuck in YE OLDE times. everyone knows a tv costs at least 200 gold, granny.

- there are dialogue options and if you complain she will berate you and bitch about "kids these days" and it will probably make her impatient

- her job is to be old and piss you off but you go do what she wants anyways cuz you gotta do something in return for living there yknow

- a big thing about the game is despite being given really basic tasks by her and other villagers or townsfolk/etc you can go like anywhere you want within ur current boundaries, so you can just straight up go do a random dungeon or kill a boss or something while on the way to delivering those horrible red delicious apples to grannys old friend who lives annoyingly far away

- exploring and doing whatever u want is the big thing about the game but the more random shit you do the more impatient granny gets and u might be barred from doing certain things the next day if u go overboard on exploration

- she expects Responsibility

- also she doesnt care that you dress like that and carry a sword around btw

- there are many weird other characters and locations in the world but i havent rly thought about them yet. this includes party members you can recruit/friends you can make

- every character has their own schedule you have to learn

- except there is this dude named jimmy whos AI is broken as fuck and the devs never cared to fix it in any possible reprints of the game (he will spend 3 hours standing at the lake near the village and then spend like 2 minutes speeding through the village when those times are supposed to be reversed)

- shoutout to coffeesnake for this above concept bc it was his idea and it kills me

- the game is heavily based on ps2 era ones and absolutely has a dogshit antipiracy system that wants you to feel true pain if you steal the game

- jimmy is related to the antipiracy system

- the game has a time/date system, you can pick your own birthday and there are jobs specific to your birthday that you can do (grannys main one for that day is you have to go pick up your own cake bc she still hasnt realized she can get things directly delivered and she wont listen when you try to explain how to bc shes old)

- you can play multiple days in one real life day, so youre not limited by your actual time system

- the other characters also have their own default birthdays aside from what you chose for aki

- everyone ages but nobody changes how they look so you could get granny to be like age 140 and she will not die, aki will still look like and be considered a kid even if youve somehow played like 30 years, etc.
