oc lore stuff is goofy because bday boy is mostly biologically considered a clown as well (mimes and clowns are their own subspecies of demon in their world lol) and rookie freaks out a bit when they find that out.

idk how neither of them noticed sooner tbh theres like a zillion things pointing towards it.

most of the population in their world could be considered demons or similar but theres still a general fear of demons and other supernatural entities too. so nobody is free from the shackles of hyper specific fears regardless of whether theyre a demon themself or something else entirely

im sure there are characters out there in that world who are afraid of plain ol humans just as much lol
