Wow, where do I start? This is quite beautiful! I wish I could draw backgrounds that good! The texture and colors work together naturally and I love the small details of grass and reeds and mushrooms added here and there! It reminds me of walking along trails by a long river!


One thing, and I know this is often hard to fully accomplish, is that the colors look a little bit flat. Sure, it's got really good shading, but the bright patches of grass and leaves would pop out even more if you add some highlights to them! And maybe add some more ripples to the water! Then you'll be making way for some awesome backgrounds!

I can not for the life of me make a decent background :/ most the time when a background turns out alright I littlry just kept splattering colors around until 
I hated it less then the rest of my art. >_<

Maybe I should practice on background for a week or two
