Description
The REAL Riddler doesn't like crazy assholes in stupid jumpsuits running around claiming they're him! Not one bit! That's right, Nygma! Thwack that idiot over the head for us! Again! Again! Show him who the REAL master of the mind is!...So If you can't tell, I really don't like Jim Carrey's "Batman Forever" version of the Riddler. God-flippity-DAMN he's awful!
I mean really. Not only was his personality seriously annoying, but his plan was stupid and implausible, his motives were kinda foggy, and his riddles were so easy a five year old could figure them out! I figured them out the second I heard them... Before BATMAN did!!
Anyway, this was just a simple joke-fanart piece that I whipped up in about an hour... but you may notice something different about this...
If you said "HOLY JESUS! HE SHADED IT!" then you're right!
Yup, I decided I'd try out a shading idea I had. I've always sorta known how to shade things, but never digitally. So what I did was I shaded things with a gray marker on the paper beforehand and then digitally recolered the gray areas with the proper shaded color later.
So yeah, I really like this image. THis could be a huge milestone for me!
Riddler is (C) of DC Comics

I'm sorry but I have to disagree: The Riddler just isn't The Riddler without the jumpsuit (and it would look seriously sexy on a Riddlerette!). It's truer to the spirit of the original comic strip. The very weirdness of the outfit graphically demonstrates that the guy is completely from another planet: brilliant but highly unstable (and completely unselfconscious of how stupid he looks). And Frank Gorshin will always be the greatest Riddler of them all...

Thank you for this.
I'm tired of people saying that movie was good. Sure, it's great to look at different versions of a character, but that was just plain stupid and OOC.

He and Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy were the best two villains of that particular cyle of 'Batman' movies. Like you say, it's not their fault that they were saddled with Joel Schumacher in the director's chair.

well, for me, i thought it was kinda cheezy & diddn't fit batman at all. it would work for superman, but batman was ment to be dark & serious.

That's what we've become accustomed to, but as a child of the sixties I cherish the vibrant Pop Art colours and Julie Newmar's sleek sexiness... Also, Batman and his foes in the TV series provide a strong visual contrast to the 'Edward Scissorhands' blandness of Gotham City itself; unlike the subsequent movies in which all the characters - good and bad alike - tend to be swallowed up by the lowering production design. It's just my opinion, but I find that the movies take themselves far, FAR too seriously; which is why Anne Hathaway's Catwoman in 'The Dark Knight Returns' - although as a baddie she wasn't in the same league as Julie Newmar - brought a welcome touch both of sixties-style glamour and of humour to the otherwise relentlessly grim preceedings.

I TOTALLY agree with you.
;D Though, to be fair, I figured out the GOOD Riddler's riddles before Batman too.
Bring it on, Nygma.

Love the concept. And so true Jim Carey would have been better cast as the Joker. He spoilt the idea of Riddler being a genius and the scripting was diabolical to say the least.

The only jumpsuit Riddler I like is Frank Gorshin. He was a decent actor, handsome and fun to watch. 60's Riddler also made some good riddles compared to Jim Carrey's version.
It's so wrong because Carrey was my childhood hero and I still like him, but he totally ruined my favourite Batman character. Thank God the Arkhamverse Riddler repaired the damage that was done.
It's a fact that Gorshin didn't like the jumpsuit either, so in my opinion he is the first person who gave the Riddler a bowler hat and a green suite.
But good work, bro! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one, who dislikes Riddler in his jumpsuit x3

I LOVE you lol. I HATE the Jim Carrey version. First off, he is an idiot. Second, he made Riddler look like an idiot instead of the brilliant man he is. THEN in the movie they start making him try to become/be just like Bruce. I have NEVER read of the riddler trying to do that. And I have a lot of comics with him. Closest I have come is in one comic where he poses as Bruce to steal something. Next, the guy just makes him look gay. And I don't mean in the liking men sense. I mean, he runs like a five year old girl! And hits worse. So for this piece of art, I thank you. Cause I am so bloody sick of people who look at me funny for hating the Jim Carrey version.

Not just better looking/designed, but also far more intelligent, way better scripted, more devious, and overall, a more effective villain.

i thought that is who you where bashing ^ ^ i got the movie and i agree. the one hitting him, is that the riddler from the batman comics? or is that version from the cartoon show?
he looks like the riddler from the animated series that ran in the early 90's but i wouldn't swear to it cause i was just a kid when i watched that show.

True, the director is probably more to blame than Carrey. In fact, I know he is. Still though, Carrey isn't one of my preferred actors, and I find a lot of his things I just can't handle.

Carrey could have actually played a whole bunch of Batman villains pretty well (ahem, Mad Hatter). But the thing is, Schumacher makes the weirdest choices for his actors (In fact, I'm willing to wager that his movies were a deliberate attempt to make the worst batman movies possible)

Yeah, I've seen that. I really hate him in "The Batman." Actually, the original plan for the picture was to have B:tAS Riddler beating up that incarnation of Riddler, but I decided Carrey's was worse.
