Description
Once I had red rosesI apologized to no one
I loved and was loved
Happiness over flowed my cup
I sang and danced
Then he said those words
Shattered my heart
He said that he loves another
He took away my red roses
Threw them to the icy ground
Trampled them
From their remains my black roses thrived
Despair and pain overwhelmed me
The fear of being alone turned to rage
All that I stood for
Now a shattered diamond at my feet
Grieving for the things that I can't repair
One day I'm going to forget his name
And he will drown in all my pain
But not before my black roses become red again
Not before I find what he denied me
Not before someone truly loves me
When I no longer grieve for what was never mine
When once again I apologize to no one
I will be free
And then my black roses may become red again.

Hey, have you heard the song, um, I think it's "Black to Red" or something? (Actually, I don't think that's it, because when I looked that title up, I got some other creepy song...)
But anyway, the song is all about someone asking, "Can you turn my black roses red?" Sounds kinda similar. I really like that image of black to red...
