I love it too, although I kind of hate that I like it because England raised America, and that's a bit wierd. But, actually, they're not blood related, America disowned him, they don't show any other signs of being related in the slightest throughout the rest of the series, and it looks like they're the same age; America either had a time machine or a huge growth spurt.
So...nevermind.
